Very solid, heavy duty lock. Comes with a key (don't loose it!) to reset the combo when you need to. Number dials are tough to turn, but I take that as a sign of it's robustnesss--if you have weak fingers, maybe not the lock you want.

We purchased this lock for a storage. We followed the instructions. The lock looks strong but it does not work very well the rotating numbers are difficult to line up and you are never sure whether you have them in alignment or not as there is no definitive click even if you are using any set of numbers (you wouldn't want it to be definitive only when you had the correct 4). I used the code behind the key on the back and got the lock to open then I opened the bolt and inserted the little combination key and rotated clockwise then I set the new code. turned the key removed the key after turning it counter clockwise to set the new code closed the bolt and tried to open it with the new code and it didn't work. Then I tried to go back to the original code but it didn't open so then I tried multiple combinations used the new code but changing each dial either up one number or down one number on each code ring. Then I tried adjusting two at number rings at a time using the same methodology and never got it open again. So, it may be operator error but be careful because your will be in trouble. I thought i followed the intructions to a T but no such luck. Then I searched online to see if there was a number to call to try to reset it since I have the original combo and key. No luck.

Good product and easy to reset codes. Although it feels like the internal parts need to be better lubricated, it's an easy fix with some WD40 or other synthetic lubricants.

I needed some good locks to lock down my father’s gates to his fence as we go through probate to settle things. These locks are great to protect from gaining access to the gates. I had some of the thinner metal locks on the gate and some cut through that lock. Well, they will not cut through these locks. The are really heavy and great quality. I did find the instructions a little hard as mines got torn off when I opened the packaging and it took me an hour to try and understand where are they located and I finally found the passcode and stuff. It was torn off with the packaging so I never found it where it said it’s was. Need to do a better job of placing the passcodes where they will not get torn with the packaging and then you can not find it as I thought it did not come with a passcode. Other than that, excellent heavy locks to secure a gate or anything more securely. They are expensive but worth the extra cost.

First off, customer service from The Big Red Toolbox is fantastic. I had a problem with the product (total fluke) I received and had it resolved very quickly. These guys know what they are doing. As for the lock its quality, it is fantastic. You will need to lube the lock up with some oil when you receive it due to some of the moving parts but after working the oil in for about a minute the lock works flawlessly. I can also say this lock will be a thief's nightmare, its very very hard to cut this off. You pretty much need an angle grinder to cut this thing off. Already received 2 locks, if I need any more I will return here for the same lock from the same seller. 100% recommend this product and company.

This name brand combination lock is a disappointment. It's solid and heavy duty but difficult to use. The numbers are very hard to turn and must be placed exactly right (which is not right at the marks but a bit below). Because all the tumblers are sunken down the ones on far right and far left are even harder to manipulate. I would send it back but I sprayed it with oil hoping to make the tumblers easier to turn - but that didn't work at all. I will be tossing it. What a waste. I expected a much more thoughtful design and smooth functionality from Master Lock.

Needed a lock for a Pod shipment - This one is easy to reset the combo with the included key, easy to open and easy to lock. Quite heavy and feels like a secure piece of hardware. Much easier to use than those locks with the combo in the bottom I hope I don't need to replace it - but if I had to, I'd get one of these again.

As someone that picks and decodes master locks frequently and publicly laughs at them for how bad they are, this is ACTUALLY a half decent lock. Pros: 1. Thick lock with boron carbide shackle that is very difficult to cut. I tried cutting it with a pair of Texas keys and to no avail. (See photo) 2. Due to the grittyness of this lock's internals decoding it is near impossible to achieve. However this can be a con (see cons below). Cons: 1. The lock's internals are gritty and comes with no lubricant in it at all which makes it a bit hard to open and close as well as using the dials. What this means is that in the winter time it could potentially freeze up and become unusable. However, all you need to fix that is to shoot it with WD-40 then apply lock lubricant in it afterwards when you receive it. Do this every few months and it should work perfectly. 2. The lever that pulls the shackle down is a bit flimsy and has potential to break. Make sure it's in good by knocking it in with a hammer otherwise it might come out. So because of those two con reasons I will give this a 3/5.

Absolute trash, numbers have become unreadable and the combination wheels are binding. Rust always showing , all thos after 1 month in use. Do not buy for outdoor use

I needed a padlock for our new bench that has storage under the seat. This is absolutely perfect, fits well, you can remove with one hand because of the easy number code. The lock itself has a sliding bar that is so easy to slide across and it seems very secure and sturdy. I have had this lock for a few months now and we had so much rain and this lock is still fine so can definitely vouch for the weatherproof and it hasn't rusted. I am very impressed with it's performance and definitely worth the price. I would recommend.
