Does the job but ...
Good product for use as a supplemental mirror in a bathroom to aid in close facial work. Only slightly disappointing issue is the pivot points on the mirror that allows it to flip between magnification side and 'regular' side is plastic and molded into the plastic frame. The mirror was installed during construction and at one point was hastily folded allowing the pivot point to hit a wall with a significant amount of force. The pivot point cracked and came off of the mirror frame. This left no way to re-attach the mirror to the supporting bracket. Because its a high stress point, glue on hand would not hold the pivot post onto the plastic frame. (a good epoxy may have been able to reattach)This should NOT be an issue for normal use of the mirror unless it is in a place which the pivot point could easily hit a structure with high impact. I purchased the same mirror as a replacement and have not experienced any issues after that. Both sides of the mirror are clean and without any distortion. The metal scissor extension and pivots work very well and holds the mirror where you place it. Most other mirrors of this type are also plastic framed so would expect that the same problem would happen to those if the mirror is 'abused' !

Hind site!
We got this mirror for a The RV because I needed to see the back of my head while combing my hair into a bun. It’s so flexible and good looking. Get this one, you will love it

Very sturdy and well-made extendable mirror
Installation:Before mounting, be sure to install the mirror on the extension arm to insure two small bushings don't fall off and be lost. (That almost happened to me.) I found the drywall anchors provided difficult to install properly to mount the base. Instead I found toggle bolts easier to work with, allowing slight adjustments to height and perpendicularity, to get the base installed just right. (The toggle bolts were rated for 50 pounds, while the instructions that came with the mirror did not rate the anchors provided, probably because correct installation of them would seem to be critical. Either those provided or the toggle anchors mount the base directly on the drywall, so it is absolutely immobile. Good instructions were provided to determine the optimum height above the floor to mount the base.Construction of the mirror:Every part (except as noted above) is solid and dependable looking. Even at maximum extension, the mirror is held steady and with no sagging. It looks like it will last for decades. The glass - both sides - seems perfect.Usage:I intend to use the mirror to see the back of my head to cut my hair. I had a similar mirror where I previously lived, but this one is clearly better, providing a large image. Now I can have both hands free to give myself a better haircut. I turn my back to the mirror over the sink and see the reflection of the back of my head in the extended mirror. See the first image, the first selfie I've ever taken. When finished, I close the extension and swivel it and the mirror flush with the wall. See second image.I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who needs a "rear view" mirror.

Long extension, but NOT lighted as indicated in the description.
This has the longest extension (30") that I could find which is great since we had to mount it to the wall facing us (not a side wall) with the sink in between us and the wall. The mirror is nice and large and seems to stay in place so far.One notable thing. The description on Amazon states "This item comes complete with mounting hardware and 25-watt replacement lightbulb (Jerdon model JPT25W)" That is INCORRECT! There is no lightbulb because there is no where to put a lightbulb. I thought that maybe when "Jerdon model JPT25W" was mentioned, they were talking about a different model of mirror, but when I looked up that model, it references an actual light bulb. THIS IS NOT A LIGHTED MIRROR.One other tip. When installing it, if you are not able to screw straight into a wall stud, don't depend on the wall anchors provided with the mirror. They do not hold tight enough to screw the screw into. When I started to screw in the screw, the anchor just turned and thus was unusable. So I pulled out the anchor and used anchors that I already had.Other than the above mentioned items, I'm quite pleased with this purchase so far. Hopefully it will last a long time. My wife is very excited.

I'm heartbroken
I had this mirror for years, and it's been the jewel in my bathroom. The 5X magnification is perfect. The extendable arm helps me see the back of my head when I cut my hair (yes, I do it myself). And the big mirror is a godsend. Anyway, after many years of use and considerable handling, it started to wobble and become unreliable. So naturally, I exchanged it for a new one. Imagine my dismay when I installed the new one and noticed that the extendable arm was crooked, causing the mirror to tilt backward. Unacceptable. I returned it.I've been looking at other mirrors, but none of them meet my needs. Either the mirrors are too small (8 inches across? maybe I'm spoiled by my Jerdon mirror, but 8in. is pocket-size by comparison); or the magnification is ridiculous (10X?! What do you take me for, a masochist? I don't to see all my faults magnified to the limit). Or the arm doesn't extend very far. And on and on. However, I am wary of buying another Jerdon because I am afraid it will also be defective. I don't want to spend my life returning defective mirrors till I luck out and get a good one.I'm heartbroken. I wanted to give this 1 star, but the original worked like a charm for many years, so I give it 3 for the memories. Jerdon, PLEASE get your act together and give your quality control department a much-needed pep talk. You are depriving me of the best wall mirror I've ever had.

Good for seeing back of my head to cut hair
I mounted it opposite the main mirror in the bathroom so I can see the back of my head when trimming my hair.It was easy to mount using the included screws and anchors into the drywall. They seem to be holding well.
