Works on Win11 24H2!
I had the older, all-black version of this same product, and it stopped working for Windows Hello when the Windows 11 24H2 update came out earlier this year. I spoke to support, and they didn't have a driver fix, and no ETA on a fix.I was shocked to plug this newer silver one in and discover that IT WORKS! So if you're looking for a fingerprint reader that works after Win 11 24H2 update broke compat with a ton of fingerprint readers (for security reasons), get this one. Works great.

WORTHLESS JUNK, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
The enclosed setup guide and Kensington's website both say "Windows Plug & Play Drivers will automatically install." That's a lie, for a start, as they did no such thing on my Windows 10 laptop! So, I downloaded their drivers from their website, and precisely followed the installation instructions. Windows 10 refused to "see" the driver software file to install it.While there's a small chance I could have gotten a bad unit that was DOA, that should not have prevented Windows from installing the Driver Software. This worthless hunk of metal and plastic and silicon is being returned to Amazon for a refund, and I'll research options from other brands. I wouldn't even need an add-on fingerprint scanner if the manufacturers of desktop replacement laptops that cost thousands of dollars would build them into the laptop to begin with! What a concept, mobile electronics with built-in fingerprint scanners! That should totally be a thing! *Rolling eyes*

It works
The fingerprint reader works to unlock my windoze computer. It sticks out further than I anticipated, not like a low profile thumb drive. I just use it to log into windows. I use Sticky Password for web page log in's , and it logs me in to them just fine. I think it is a bit expensive, but it looked better than the cheaper ones I looked at. Windows did not recognize it immediately, but after pulling it out and sticking it back in a couple of times it did. Setting it up was very easy. I do really appreciate not having to type my password a dozen times everyday, so it is a winner for me.

Works perfect
Not much to say, use your Windows to enter your fingerprints and you are good to go.

Not low profile.
It works great, however it does not sit flush like you might imagine. It sticks out a lot further then the cheaper alternative by the same brand. For me it hangs on things in my laptop bag and during travel. Something worth considering. I wish there were one of these available that sits flush with the USB port and has a very low profile.

Gen 2 is much better.
Works so much better than the Gen1 version. I purchased two of the first generation. Horrible false negative rate on both. Gen2 doesn't have a similar issue. Very happy.

Unstable performance, and then it stopped working totally.
This device works for a period of time then lost the fingerprints every week or so. Finally after 4 months, it stopped working. The PC and Windows Hello do not recognize the device. Support did no troubleshooting. They are sending another. I would not buy this again.
