I read a lot of reviews picking out my journal and I am happy with my decision. To address some of the complaints of others. It smelled like leather when it came in. It lays almost flat when open. No pages have fell out. It is holding up well to being packed around in my purse and tossed on the bed and even to being put in my travel bag. I’ve had it for a month and when I run out of pages I will buy it again. It has a very personal feel which is missing from journals you would buy at the big box store.

I purchased this journal for my grandsons 19th birthday. He had been telling me that he was exploring new ideas and thoughts. When I gave it to him he remarked that the first appearance of the leather cover is quality. He is very appreciative that Scriveiner London uses recycled cloth in the paper and that the company also contributes to global warming efforts. How could a gift be more appreciated? When his sister, who is an avid artist noted that the pages are unlined, her eyes lit up. Since her birthday had just passed, what's a gram to do? The second journal arrived yesterday and my granddaughter was thrilled! She loved the paper and admired the quality binding. Lovely product I am proud to have gifted.

I received my journal in a really nice hemp drawstring bag. The journal smelled of new leather and immediately gave me a nostalgic feeling. I LOVE that. There are 5 separate parts to write on inside. The paper is thick and has a vintage feel to it. The straps seem to be very strong and not worn at all. Like maybe they made this one specifically for me and it comes with a year warranty. Overall, this has been one of my favorite purchases on Amazon and I'm very happy. Thank You so much.

The workmanship is beautiful. This is a gift for the ordination of a young priest. It will be great for writing sermons.

I bought this as a present to myself. I already bought a Scriveiner pen (which is awesome!) so I decided to buy a journal too. I was going to buy a 7x5 inch but noticed they had launched an 8x6. I thought the extra size might be nice.I am very happy with it! The leather is beautiful. It’s a lot thicker than I expected. It’s softer and more pliant as a result. It also seems to be very high quality leather. The size is very nice too. Not so big that I don’t want to carry it with me but plenty of space to draw and write on the same page. The paper is thick with a super texture. Very easy to write on.I can’t believe that you can get a handmade journal of this quality for less than $30.I would recommend this to anyone!

This is a lovely journal and one I’ll use for special writings. I was under the impression that the paper would hold watercolor without seeping through the page. However, as you can see from the photos, the watercolor clearly came through. There is a piece of attached craft paper that you can put beneath the page as you are painting so the paint and water do not soak into the following page. I’ll stick to colored pencils and micron pens for additional drawings. The ink did not seep through, so basically both sides of the paper are usable if watercolor is not used. The leather is soft and a nice brown color. It closes with a long, wrap-around strap. The paper is sewn in and there are five generous sections of paper attached. Other than the problem with watercolor, it is a keeper and would make a lovely gift for an artist or writer.

Beautiful, well put together. Whenever I write in it, I feel like I’m writing an epic LOTR or GOT story! LOL Bought one for myself and as a gift for my brother who is a pastor. He told me it was too beautiful to write in and is saving it for when he truly has something “epic,” to write about but is going to keep it on his bookshelf so anytime somebody in his congregation comes to his office and sees it they might think “Man, wonder what in the heck does he have written in that thing!?!? Does he own some sort of Methodist Dead Sea Scrolls??”

I bought this book to write down about my days and the To-Do list. First off, the book is everything I ask for and more. The leather is really nice and I really enjoy the leather band that goes around the book. It's actually really good leather and not the cheap kind of leather. Second, the paper feels really nice. It's the cotton kind and I really like it. Also, it does how a look of a really old collectable type.
