Mount the bracket vertically for heavier speakers.
Nice brackets and work great. I have DT-1000’s mounted on my walls. I first aligned the bracket in a horizontal direction and no matter how much i tightened the clamp the speakers would drop down.I changed the orientation of the bracket, mounting them Vertically and problem solved. They have been up for several months and haven’t budged. Also, the hole in the center of the bracket is large enough to pass speaker wire through allowing for a cleaner installation.A really good bracket just a tad pricey at $25/bracket.

Works Great for Atmos Speakers
I needed to buy a 1/4"-20 female to 3/8"-16 male adapter to use these with my Polk R900's but I'm not deducting a star for that. It was difficult to get the mounts to hold my speakers in place with the included allen wrench but not impossible. It would have been easier if the wrench was smaller. They look great in my setup and work perfectly.

Very solid product
I read all the reviews before purchasing these, and frankly, I was confused. Some people were saying they were not good, a waste of money, etc.; THANKFULLY, I choose to go with my gut and side with Definitive Tech and my belief that they would never sell a bad product. These mounts are great. Very solid, low profile and allow for a full range of mounting positions for large speakers. I have the ProCinema 800's, and there are absolutely no issues with these mounts. They go up easy and securely. Another complaint I read was that buyers were miffed that Def. Tech did not include hardware to mount these - well - I don't blame Def. Tech at all. These are not small, light, satellite speakers - these are 8 lbs each. and when considering you are mounting them at an angle, they do place a good deal of outward pressure on the mounts. A buyer needs to look at where they are putting them and buy mounting screws accordingly. I used stainless steel 1/4" molly screws which worked perfectly for me: I was installing in dry-wall with a plaster exterior. Imagine if I had used stock mounting screws that were not adequate to my mounting surface and my very expensive nice new speaker hit the ground - imagine Def. Tech's endless headache with dealing with people who would do exactly that!! The mounting holes are universal, you can use what ever mounting setup you think best. Novel idea huh? The speaker sets very securely to the mount, all parts are metal, and you can cinch them down once you get them into position - they do not slip, sag or alter their position in any way once you have them set up. Mounting is also easy, you mount the rotating ball to the speaker first and then position that into the holder on the installed base of the mount - tighten one allen nut - and voila - you are done. Great product, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice mount for their speakers. Buy it, these are well worth the couple bucks extra over the generic mounts you find at Video Only or Best Buy.

Great Product
After fighting for years with the weak factory mounts that came with my 8 lb Energy speakers I ordered these mounts. They have a great hold and overall I'm very pleased. They are a bit larger and more noticable than the original mounts, but given the increased strength this is to be expected and have more capacity than I really needed - so I never have to adjust again. As indicated in other reviews, they are a bit difficult to tighten with one person on a ladder as mine are mounted about 9' high on 10' walls. I used a handle from a reversable screwdriver, or nut driver set, and inserted the short side of the hex wrench into the handle. This made the final adjustments on 2/3/4th mountings much easier.Overall, I like the product and they are doing what they are designed to do. If they were just a bit less expensive I'd give them 5 stars.

Work well but expensive - packaging an issue
They hold my 4.5 pound Polk TL3 rears just fine. I had an issue with the cheap packaging that allowed them to get scratched in shipment. The allen wrench supplied is just thrown unwrapped into a small cheap cardboard box and the mounts themselves are wrapped with the thinnest tissue paper I have ever seen. The result was several minor scratches either from the wrench or the threaded studs contacting the painted surface of the bracket. I was able to mount them so the scratches didn't show too much, but shame on Definitive for the shoddy packaging. For the price they should have wrapped them a little better to prevent damage.

Top Tier Speaker Wall Mount
Tried out Jumbl and Sanus universal wall mounts before finally coming across this brand. A little bit more expensive compared to other mounts but definitely worth the price! Heavy duty and very well built. Mounted my Samsung Q990D rear speakers and the wall mounts compliments the speakers very well. Only issue is I had to go buy an extra long T handle Allen key just to make it easier to tighten the clamp (see photo listed).

Very Sturdy and Look Nice Installed with 2 Gang Cover Plates If Your House Is Wired for Surround
I bought 2 sets of Definitive Technology ProCinema 600s and enough speaker mounts for all 10 wall mounted speakers. I bought blank nylon 2 gang cover plates at Home Depot that cover the junction box and the area of the neighboring stud. (House has 3 rooms prewired for surround). I made a 1" hole in the cover plate where the mount goes, but still hides the hole so that I could run the wire from inside the wall to the speaker without it showing . I then mounted the bracket directly into a stud with 2 x #14 2.5" screws. This hides the wires and junction boxes leaving a cleanly and strongly installed bracket. I am sure the bracket would support the weight of my body. Very strong. The speakers once mounted shouldn't be climbed on but seem plenty strong. I would bet that if you applied enough force to the speaker to force it to fail, the failure would be in the speaker, not the mount. I did one of the rooms yesterday and the installation, even with my cover plate idea was pretty easy. The only negative I see with them is the price. Not sure if it's a fair price or not. The seem like quality. I was hoping that the mounts weren't going to cost $250 but I bit the bullet.
