Directions need better
I put my chair together. The instructions need to be better. I had one bolt left and it was too long to go through the cross bars to get tightened. I got another part from my garage. It's a heavy sturdy chair and that's what I looked for. It's lightweight enough to move. I don't weigh 500lbs but I am over 300 and can't stand up long enough to shower. I have copd. This chair will help me take a nice shower and not getting short of breath. I bought a few others and they were too flimsy. I would buy this again.

The chair is nice but could be stronger.
I was impressed with everything about this bath chair. The molded pieces have threaded brass fittings that allow the legs and supports to be screwed to them accurately. The back has two clips that allow it to be quickly removed. Height is easily adjustable. Cross braces attach firmly. It just all fits well, and when you are done, you feel like you have a strong, waterproof chair that will be safe in the bathroom. The nuts have decorative plastic covers that don't seem to serve any purpose other than decoration. But this chair is exactly what I need right now, and I am totally pleased with the quality. After having this chair for a month, I note that the seat suddenly "pushed down" while I was taking a shower. I was sitting off center. Since then the "smile" starts to frown if I don't sit carefully centered. I'm still using it, I don't want to replace it, but I'm just not as happy with it. I verified that the claimed capacity for this chair is 500 lbs, I'm nowhere near that. The legs still seem very strong, but the bench needs to be a little stiffer. I believe that this sort of failure is due to skimping on material. If I could change my review, I'd drop between 1 and 2 stars.

Needs a water pill
This a great chair and very strong and I recommend it! It is the only chair that has lasted more than a couple of weeks of my wife's use. The pins that secure the legs look cheap but I have not had any problems with them yet. Some of the molding gates were left on the clamps also. You will have to spend some time putting it together. It took me about 45 minutes including reading the instructions. The only problem so far was water drainage. There are no holes in the feet of this chair. Therefore, the legs will hold water. I had to drill a hole in each foot for drainage. I also drilled a couple of holes at the lowest point on the plastic seat, the lowest point on the bottom of the plastic back and in the bottom of lower back support around the front clamp area. This fixed the drainage problem. There looks to be a steal disk on the inside of each foot that appears to be rusting. Therefore, I think the feet will need to be replaced eventually. The chair works well on slightly uneven bath tubs like mine also.Seat split after about 8 months. Tried to contact Econo Mobility for a warranty clam but after 3 phone calls, no return calls and a week I gave up. I will not order from this supplier again! Also Drive will only work with their suppliers. If buying a Drive product I would work with someone local.

This shower chair is sturdy and comfortable
I have a son with epilepsy (seizures) and he is 6ft 3 and 230 lbs. He had had a few seizures in tub. This chair has worked great for him and I. We use a shower wand and sit . It is very sturdy easy to assemble , holds around 500 max weight I think , dries well , water runs through seat. This is the second one , the first lasted for years. Try one , you will enjoy it.

quality construction and very sturdy!
Very sturdy and well made bath.shower chair. I am 6' tall and like that you can raise the chair to a very comfortable height for me. Every inch of height is a welcome relief when sitting down with bad knees. Assembly was fairly easy with very well designed instructions. I was missing one screw and the customer service department of Drive Medical appeared very professional, and helpful and they immediately mailed me out, priority mail, the part I needed. I am very happy with purchase and would highly recommend this chair. Also based on my experiences, I can say that I will look for this company's products first should I have need for anything else.

Defective and Previously Used
One of the cross braces is too short - there is no way that the holes will line up and it cannot be fully assembled. I don't feel I should have to pay return shipping for a defective item. As I unpacked it, it was obvious that this chair had already been returned once - scratches around the holes on the metal tubes, very haphazard packaging and partially assembled components were all dead give aways. I should have stopped right there but I didn't want to give up before I even started. Since I can't find a way to actually communicate with a real person on Amazon, I'm going to try contacting Drive Medical and see what they have to say about this. I'm very familiar with Drive products and they've all been top notch. Of course, I've bought all of them at my local medical supply dealer. Too bad.

Very sturdy shower chair
I got this chair almost a year ago after my CABG. I had a similar chair before that wasn't sturdy at all. The legs separated and pulled loose from the seat within a couple of weeks. However this chair I have had for almost a year and I have not had any problems with it at all. I feel safe and secure sitting in this for my showers. I am almost 300 lbs and don't have any issues, I would recommend this to anyone.

Not easy for weak hands to assemble.
I like the chair. Seems stable. Fits the tub. This chair was not cheap, it was $65. But the designer and manufacturers really cheaper out on the adjustable legs. Once I select the height, I will never be able to readjust it. It does not have the preferred push pins. Instead, you snap on some plastic band with A metal pin in the middle. Its a very very bad design. I wish they would spend time with their customers before they sign off on the design. I would never have passed the design on this!!!
