Gorgeous, Sleek Docs
I was looking for patent leather Doc Martens and I came across this laceless pair. They are not bulky, are perfectly shiny, yet very “rock-n-roll” if that’s what you’re looking for. They are a bit stiff at first and they do take some breaking into. They are not as heavy and your most common Doc Martens style lace-ups. I like that it takes some elbow grease to slip into because it means that they are form fitting and your foot won’t lift at the ankle when you’re walking. Once you’ve broken them in, they are very comfortable.

GREAT boots. Makes healed broken ankle fee safe and secure!
THese boots are gorgeous. I have been wearing a pair for 4 years and they look great. When I shattered my ankle two years ago, I had to wear a big, ugly black brace. I took these boots with me to the orthopedist and looked them over and said, 'the days you wear these boots, you don't have to wear the brace. Fantastic! Since then I have purchased 4 more Dog Marten boot designs and they are so fabulous to look at and for ankle suport. Don't hesitate-- buy them. Every time I wear them I have to write down the brand for admirers. I have even taken them off in public and let other women with big feet try they on. Great pruchase. You cannot go wrong with a Doc Marten boot or shoe. Npt expesive when you realize they wear for years and years and years! Don't buy cheap look a likes, get the real Doc Martens.

Comfortable and shiny
I love Dr. Martens as always, so I suppose I am already biased in their favor. As usual, the shoes were tight and stiff (killing my feet) for the first few days, but I took a hammer to them and they have been incredibly comfortable to wear since. As far as I see, they have been holding on to their shine through all the snow and mud and salt of Ohio, so sturdy as usual.

Sole split
Really disappointed that the sole split on both shoes after less than a year of wear. They’re cute, but I wouldn’t recommend them if they are only going to last a few months.

Nice but takes breaking in
Nice Doc boots with patent shine. They are stiff at first and must be broken in. They will rub extensively on your shins above your ankles until the leather softens. This takes time. In the meantime, wear thick crew socks and fold the shaft back when not in use. Once they are broken, they are good. They will never be the shoes you wear for 10 hours at a time or if you are doing a lot of walking. But for moderate wear times they are comfortable enough. The patent looks nicer than the flat leather ones.

Maybe not for high arched feet
Had to return, maybe my arches are really high, but the top of my foot touched the top of the shoe and it was really tight, only have my feet in a couple mins and it was sore and red on the top of my foot when it hit. Really bummed because i love this look.
