Product description LIKE NEW! .com Though at first glance a third Queen hits collection might seem to stretch the bounds of credibility, upon reflection this collection may well be the most revealing and compelling of the lot. Gathered from disparate late-career band and solo projects as well as Freddie Mercury tributes with guest vocalists filling the shoes of the band's late singer (Elton John dramatically on "The Show Must Go On," George Michael playfully over-the-top on "Somebody to Love"), it's a collection that coalesces into a thematically and musically satisfying whole. Though oft criticized for their unapologetic excesses, Queen's brash infusion of rock and blues with operatic drama and scale (deliciously exemplified here by "Barcelona," Mercury's duet with diva Montserrat Caballe) was unique. III isn't so much a collection of hits as a well-paced, lovingly compiled homage to Freddie Mercury and his distinctly arch artistic vision. --Jerry McCulley

Love it
All I can say is that I love this CD. This has two of fave songs released after FM passed, the haunting "Those were the days of our lives" and the live version of "Somebody to love" with George Michael!!

Love Queen.
I had Queen's greatest Hits I & II and when I found this I had to have it. Freddie Prinz' voice lives on in his music.

Greatest Hits, It's Not - But it is hot!
Several years after the death of Freddie, the remaining members of Queen are still trying to make a living in the music industry. I am not sure why since they obviously don't need the money. However, the strength of Greatest Hits III comes from the tribute songs with the help of Elton John and George Michael. The duet with Monserrat Caballe is brilliant! Suggest you check out the entire Bacelona CD if you are a huge Freddie fan! The remix of the classic duet with David Bowie is a real let down. I would rather see a release of old Queen songs with a new vocalist that can come close to the style and flamboyance of Mr Mercury. No, you cannot replace Freddie, but Brian, John, and Roger still have so much to offer! As Freddie would say, "The Show Must Go On"!

A real treat
I didn't even know Queen had a GH no. 3. Glad I found it, because I was about to purchase several of these songs individually.
