Serta Raised Twin Bed with Never Flat Pump
Bought this particular bed because of other good reviews and its height from the floor. It is fairly easy to stand up after swinging my legs off the bed and planting my feet on the floor. I am not the most agile person nowadays, and a little pull on the chair across from the bed puts me upright on the first attempt. This is my full time bed, replacing an older air mattress. Shipment was quick, and while there was a slight odor when it was removed from the package, I was unable to dectect it aftert the bed was pumped up and in use. I have yet to hear the never flat pump run except for when I get up off the bed in the morning! I am a light sleeper, and in need of white noise to help me sleep, so if it has run of a night, I've never heard it. It is a very firm mattress, but if someone wanted a less firm surface, the bed could be inflated to less than full, and the never flat pump shut off. I have no trouble with the firmness, though! The mattress inflated quickly; don't confuse the main pump noise for the never flat pump noise. There is a major difference in decibel levels between them!! Right now I have a set of full sheets on it, and they are too small to completely cover the bottom edges of the mattress. A queen sized set in enroute, and those should do the job, based on another user's review. The mattress was bought and put in use in December. My first night I only had the twin quilted comforter under the mattress pad, and it wasn't enough to keep me from feeling that the mattress was leaching heat from my body. The second night I had added one woolen blanket as insulation, and it still was not enough. But the third night, with 2 woolen blankets and the comforter I didn't feel the heat leaching. Someone who is suseptible to the cold, however, will need additional padding for the winter!! I don't heat the bedroom, though, so means my bedroom is a lot cooler than the bedrooms of most people; this may mean that others won't need as much padding as I do against the cold mattress. I am hoping that the woolen blankets can be removed come summer, when I want to lose body heat of a night!! The air mattress I was using before was older, and I can't recall the brand. It had the typical ridges like the floating air mattresses used in a pool, and I felt each and every one of them all night long. Having my leg on such a ridge was enough to trigger leg and foot cramps, so I had to find a position with the legs in between those ridges. That made it unconducive to restful sleep. The Serta never flat does not have those ridges, makin it superior for just that reason alone! This is the best mattress I've ever slept on. I know that there is no stuffing to eventually compress and no springs to add pressure points as with conventional mattresses. It was a lot cheaper than an air number bed, and it is portable, so I could deflate it and take it with me on vacation if I wanted. It will always be the firmness I want. It arrived in excellant shape (no stains or holes as others have noted; the Serta quality control dept. was working well when my mattress was boxed. I was pleased that the never flat pump only kicks in when I get up off the mattress; it runs for maybe 4 or 5 seconds at maximum even then. It works very well as a full time bed; I'm certain that it would be an excellant guest bed as well, but mine is getting a more rigorous workout. I wanted to sleep on it for a week before I submitted a review, just to see how well it performed under daily use. I am very happy with the results and highly recommend this to anyone wanting a taller air mattress for house guests or as a full time bed for themselves. If the need would arise for a second one, I'd not hesitate even one second to buy a second one!

Best sleep I've had in YEARS!
UPDATE, 1 year later: Changed this from 4 stars to 5. Slept on this bed EVERY NIGHT since it arrived a year ago. Perfectly comfortable. My troublesome back issues have been effectively held at bay...apparently my back was as happy with this bed as I was. Never Flat pump worked perfectly and was super quiet. Rarely EVER came on...UNTIL I recently accidentally knocked my cat off the bed one night. In her scramble to avoid the fall, she must've punctured it somewhere, though I could never find it. The Never Flat pump came on more and more often, until it got to the point it was on ALL THE TIME. Then it became too loud to allow for sleep. I lovingly laid it to rest at the recycle center last week and replaced it with a 'real' bed...a Signature Sleep Contour 8" twin mattress paired with a Pragma Bed Simple Base Bi-Fold twin frame. If not for the cat, there's no telling how long I'd have continued my relationship with this 'temporary' bed. Should I ever have need of a temporary bed (in a bedroom where the cat isn't allowed), I will definitely order another. Cannot say enough good things about this bed. Some reviewers complained of it being cold in winter. I had no issues with this (and I get cold VERY easily), perhaps because of the thick memory foam topper and flannel sheets I used during winter. Here's my original review: Been sleeping on this every night for around a month now...really loving it! Keep mine set to Firm. Adding a Serta memory foam topper allowed me to keep the support the doctor ordered, while being able to enjoy some cozy plushness as well. Deep ruffled skirt hides the fact that it's an air bed and the topper on top of it keeps the skirt and sheets from sliding around. Tossed a comforter and some pillows on it and it looks like a regular twin bed! First week I had it, I heard the Never Flat Pump come on fairly regularly...usually when I got off the bed in the morning. NEVER heard it at night...it's absurdly QUIET. Second week, I never heard it come on at all, so was beginning to think it was a dud. Before returning, I tested it by deflating it a bit, but leaving the setting on Firm. Sure enough, the Never Flat Pump kicked on, just like it was supposed to! I guess the fact that I never hear it come on is an indication it's NOT losing air! Only thing I DON'T like about it so far is that it's design does not work with standard twin fitted sheets...it's quite hard (and expensive) to find fitted twin sheets with the 18-20" pockets, and if you use one, you need to do some alteration around the air intake for the automatic pump so that airflow is not interrupted. Either that, or disable the automatic pump altogether after the first week, since it so rarely needs to come on anyway! Not sure how it would work for a larger/heavier person. I'm 5'2" and 118 lbs and it doesn't scoot around when I get on and off it. I have it sitting on a wood floor and it doesn't move unless I purposefully move it. Nice thing is that when I open and close the window it's in front of, or when I remake the bed in the mornings, it's easy to move over when I NEED to move it, since it's just air, and not a heavy wood framed bed! How it holds up as a primary bed is yet to be determined, but so far, I'm getting the best sleep I've had in YEARS! I used to wake up several times a night...I thought that was just normal. Once I fall out on this thing at night...I'm OUT til the alarm goes off in the morning, and I don't want to get up then...it's too comfy!

Failed after second use
Dec 3, 2018 Style: Twin Serta Purchased March 2017 I purchased this bed sometime ago, March 2017. I will say this for the bed, It comes with a nice carry bag and is easy to set up, just plug into the wall, turn the switch to inflate, and it automatically inflates and turns off at the correct set air pressure. Lastly, its fairly comfortable as I covered the mattress with a quilt and a cloud mattress pad. There is a major problem, since purchasing the mattress it has only been used twice and failed on the second use. Shortly after the mattress arrived it was used for one night and performed well. The next time the mattress was set up for use was this month (December 2018). After only being used twice, the mattress separated from the pump control and is virtually useless as it no longer holds air. As soon as it pumps up the air flows out and it goes flat to the floor. I understand, the mattress has an excellent 2 year warranty. I am going to try to locate the number on the product page follow-up on how to get it replaced. I will update with the results after I make contact with the company. Amazon, thank you for keeping our information in our accounts pertaining to our orders so we can follow-up and read the experiences of other customers.

Met ALL my expectations...
Love it. Having slept on other air mattresses, I wanted something to address earlier complaints. This bed has different firmness levels, and I picked the top setting. The bed filled amazingly quickly, and deflates in about twice that time which was still very good IMO. Even at top firmness, I found the bed to have just the right amount of "give" to be comfortable and beyond notice. And, in truth, I never noticed the secondary "never flat" air pump kick in. If it did, it was indeed very quiet. Best of all, though, I'm up in age a bit, and the knees don't work as well as before, so being able to literally sit on the edge of the bed, even to dress, much as you would a regular bed, and then stand, was very welcomed. Very much satisfied. Just a couple more comments, though. This bed is very light once filled. But heavier to carry when not. Still, this makes it easy to just lift mattress ends up for fitting sheets and such. Speaking of sheets, this was a twin, a very deep twin, an 18" twin, and I could not fine fitted sheets to handle. Most are 14" fitting a max of 16". I found one set of 16" fitting a max of 18". That max of 18" means it just reaches the bottom edge, and doesn't really fit past and underneath as did the mattress pad I ordered. So the fitted sheet did slip up the side of the mattress a bit, but not enough to remaking the bed constantly. And, in fact, I only noticed when taking off sheets to wash. But if anyone has found a set of twin sheets fitting 18"-22", as did the mattress pad, then please post a comment here. Lastly, because the mattress is indeed light, and I had placed on a natural wood floor, I found it moved a bit on the floor during the night. Not a big deal for me. Lastly again, I also found I was able to use an electric blanket with the mattress. Which had concerned me. But with a mattress pad and two sheets between the mattress and electric blanket, it seemed to work out okay. Time will tell. But this was for use in an unheated guest room, and was willing to give it a try. Nicest visit I've had. My own bed. And heat. Nice.

Great bed for guests, easy to setup and take down
Personally I did not like sleeping on it - too much like a waterbed feeling. But my guest liked it.. Easy to set up and take down. Actually fit easily back into it's bag. Guest really liked feature to control firmness. Really good height - able to sit on edge of bed with no problems. Had a slight plastic smell but that went away pretty quickly. Used queen sheets and went all the way to the floor on this twin bed (be sure not to cover the air vent). Did need some padding as surface is very hard and firm. Put down some folded blankets and that did the trick. Left it up for more than a week with no problems or sagging. Not too heavy, easy to carry in it's bag.

Great Air Mattress for long term guest
My MIL is visiting me for 11 days. I wouldn’t dare make her sleep on an air mattress so I gave her my bedroom. And I’m glad I did, because I got to see just how nice this Serta AM is. I normally wake up with a stiff lower back from my own bed but I’m a week in tomorrow in with AM and no stiff back. Amazing!!! I chalked it up for me just getting old but it’s the mattress from my bed which is I guess soft and the AM I have it set to medium firmness. And it keeps its shape through the night. Set up and deflate is quick I have been setting up for 6 nights no issues. When I get up for potty breaks you can hear it softly inflating, it’s very quiet. I love this AM very very happy with it and the price. Perfect for long term guest. Now I’m going to replace my bed’s mattress with a serta mattress I’m now sold on the brand.

Company does NOT back up Faulty Products
I bought one of the single inflatable mattresses and I was amazed at how well the extra silent pump worked to keep the mattress properly inflated. Since the first mattress turned out well, I decided to get a second one for when extra family visits. The only problem is that the extra pump on the second mattress did NOT turn out to be silent. It had a very noticeable electric hum which continued as long as it was plugged in. This made sleeping on it difficult. If you unplugged the mattress the hum stopped but by the morning it was deflated so it was sagging and not comfortable. I wrote the company and they asked me to provide a picture of it. I sent a short video so they could hear it humming. They then said they would replace it but I needed to send a picture showing that the Serta Name was "cut out" from the mattress and the serial number was written on it. (This apparently was to document that the mattress was no longer usable.) I did this and sent them a picture as they requested. From this point on the company stopped communicating with me. I wrote to them three times but heard nothing. I then called Amazon Customer Service to ask for their assistance. They indicated they could not give me a refund but they would contact the company to see if they could work out a resolution. That was over two weeks ago and I've heard nothing about a resolution. So buyers beware. The company will not stand behind resolving a faulty mattress nor refund your $149.95 cost. It also appears that Amazon is unable to get such issues resolved. And it also appears that they might not get back to you on such issues.

Great Mattress
It is awesome. Inflates quickly and the ability to choose firmness is a great feature. Used for two nights and was a terrific sleep. Bed stayed at inflated firmness and never once heard the motor that keeps it inflate working. When it was time to put away it deflated completely in just over three minutes as easy as folding in the sides and folding up from the bottom. Stores in travel bag that comes with purchase and has large cotton handles on bag for easy carrying. This is a great buy for quest use and to take with you on visits.

good product
inflates/deflates fast. Top has button groves that doesn't make it a smooth top. Other than that it's a good product. If your picky, the groves my bother you. Fairly tall, so some sheets may not fit properly. Better for back sleeping than side.
