Great Gel pad. Definitely is cooling. Very sturdy so far. It holds up to dog scratches. Lightweight and easy to take on the go. Dog immediately laid down on it. I cover with a pillow case to make more comfortable and to help with noise. It stays cool for a little while and then takes only a few minutes to recharge. There is no odor to it. Just wipe off to clean.

We bought this for our husky as she loves to hang out outside in the heat. She was unsure at first, but after some encouragement she understands what it is and appreciates it! Really innovative technology, stays cool outside in the heat as long as it doesn't sit in direct sunlight. Our husky will jump and play with her ball on it and it seems durable. No maintenance, easy to clean. Will have to see how it holds up over time. Overall a great product!

Less than impressed honestly. I live in Southern California, where it's hot as hell on the regular, and this summer, it has been in the 90s-100s pretty regularly. I have two pugs, and not only do they overheat easily with all of their rolls, one of them can't use her back legs and get water or cool off as easily as the other, so I figured this would be the perfect solution for her. I ended up ordering two because the sizes were funky. I ordered a large for our handicapped dog, and it fit perfectly in her dog bed (i don't know the dementions of the bed, but it's an XL dog bed, usually for large dogs). I noticed when I got it that the pad wasn't cold, or even mildly cool to the touch, so I attempted to put it in the freezer, which was a mistake; it expanded and I accidently broke a part of my freezer drawer (I'm not knocking a star off for that obviously, since it was my own mistake, but I want to make sure people know what will happen!). Overall, the pad still didn't seem cool once it thawed either. We normally have to put ice packs on our handicapped pug when she overheats, and I still find myself doing that just as often as before. We still keep it on her bed out of habit, since it also stops her from peeing into the dog bed, but it isn't cold in the slightest, so now it's really just an overpriced pee pad. I also purchased an XL pad because of the great reviews. Our other dog normally likes to cool down on the tile floor in our kitchen, but she is also old and can't go down the stairs to the kitchen, so I figured I'd keep it on the carpet. She seemed totally uninterested in the thing. I'd have to bribe her with treats just to sit on the mat, but that was the only time she'd go on it. I even put her water bowl on the mat, and she'd rather whine in front of the mat for water than to go over it to drink. I'm not sure if it's the texture of the mat on her nails or if she's just picky or just doesn't see the point, but she has zero interest in it. I attached a photo of her napping, and no matter how much I tried to get her to nap or even sit on the mat, she wanted nothing to do with it. So now I have these two pads that are basically a waste of money. I feel like if you live somewhere that's already cold, the mats will also be cold. But if you live anywhere that gets warmer than 70°, it's useless. Pretty disappointed, as our family was looking forward to finding some temperature relief for our dogs.

My boxer mix was not enjoying the Texas heat this summer and was pushing aside the padding in his crate to sleep on the cool plastic. I laid on this myself, and it was really nice. He seems to appreciate it too, and now that it's not triple-digit hot any more, the mat is under a blanket. If your dog likes to dig at beds (or use them as stress-relievers when you leave) the nylon will get little tears and gel will come out. I patched holes with duct tape, and it worked. Update: I put the first pad up for the winter, and it had no gel left when I got it back out. So I ordered another for this summer. The addition of the logo makes it feel a bit more fancy, and maybe I'm imagining it, but it seems like the nylon is a bit sturdier. Regardless, my buddy cools down faster after his morning run, and is super comfy at night (we're in a top floor apartment for the summer, so it feels a little warm sometimes).

I have already purchased this pad over 16 times. My dog loves them and when new he won’t sleep on anything else. Like others, it grows moldy in a few months. For me, the gel had never leaked out, but it does evaporate quickly. I have tried all sores of ways to inhibit the mold, but nothing (wiping with germicide, drying daily, covering with cotton, ozone bath, everything) nothing works. You can wipe it with soap and a little water but it really doesn’t extend its life. I finally purchased this electric contraption from china, but it’s a pain to set up and maintain. There’s got to be something better.

This is my dog's favorite way to wind down and cool off. She loves to have her Chillz on top of her bed. We have multiple beds, and she will always choose whichever bed we put the chill on. Sometimes I have to take the chills out of her bed and put it into another one just for her to settle down and hang out near us. My dog struggles with anxiety and is older, and we want to make her comfortable. This mat has helped my dog be cooler and wind down. We even have a small fan that we place near her bed, and she is so happy. I think we are going to have to invest in multiple Chillz mats for her other beds for this summer.

I bought this just before the big heatwave and my cat loved using it. I just put in down where he usually likes to curl up and sleep and the next thing I knew he was on it. It's like magic and it really feels cool.

We moved to South Florida so this was a perfect idea, however he was able to bite and rip the mat. It leaked all over and we had to throw it out. It was not as sturdy as advertised.

Good quality however it can be slippery on tiles.

Product is as described. Does get chilly. Only trouble is my dog won’t lay on it, but my 12 year old uses it to cool off.

Brilliant product, does what it says it does, my dog wasn’t interested at first but I persevered and got him to lay on it for long enough for it to start drawing the heat from his body, (about 30 seconds to a minute) now he goes straight to it when he gets too hot, wish I could get a human size one! Well worth the money.
