OpenIntro Statistics: Fourth Edition

I'm taking a statistics course that's going to kill me. This book makes the difficult material a little easier.

This book was required for a class in a graduate degree in Data Analytics. It gave a brief overview of the topics, focusing on explaining what the particular methods were for without providing much detail. The book has many easy to understand examples and many problems you can work through.If you are looking for the math behind the techniques, look elsewhere. But if you just need an overview with examples and problems, this book will suit your needs.

I am using this to teach first semester statistics. It's a very well-organized book, with a large number of accompanying datasets, which can be super-helpful in doing examples, especially in R.Having finished the semester now, I still thinks it's a great book. I personally like beginning with probability so I kind of began with Chapter 3. It would be great to have a second semester book, beginning with Regression (basically Chapters 7 and 8 of this book) and getting deeper into modeling and data analysis.

This textbook is easy to follow for concepts in statistics with plenty of excercises to help drive home the understanding of each topic.

The authors apparently decided that they could publish a useful book without any sort of editor. They were wrong.This seems like only part of a textbook, with key information often omitted. Some of the homework problems cover terms mentioned in one footnote, rather than in the main text. Formulas rarely show actual numbers from the story problems, and mathematical notations are not explained.This might be an understandable book if you already know how to use statistics, but then you wouldn’t need a statistics textbook.If this is the book your professor chooses be prepared to spend a lot of time online looking up explanations that are actually useful.

Purchased this book even though there is an online free pdf version because I am old school and like to read physical copies. The book was needed for an online class I took. It was everything I needed. Kudos to the authors making an open source text book and not charging outrageous prices for a physical copy. 10/10 would highly recommend this textbook.

Thick book, lots of information and structured very nicely alongside online videos. There is the free PDF version but I just like to have physical things in hand so that's why i bought the paperback version. It was an optional textbook for my class and it's awesome. Paper is thick and highlighter doesn't bleed through

Love this book. Loads of examples and questions with answers. Can't fault it at all. Very pleased!

Libro stampato in bianco e nero, carta opaca antiriflesso, ottimo prezzo per la qualità del contenuto, visto che è utilizzato anche nelle università Ivy League.Chiaro, parte dalle basi fino a sviluppare concetti avanzati.

I picked it up, and have already went through about half of it.Mind you for me this is mostly review, but also show how good the book is.Would definitely recommend

This covers the basics of statistics thoroughly. It has excellent progression and very easy to follow. I feel its a must have for any one starting with the subject of Statistics.
