What is the difference between blue, red, and brown? They are all the same Price?

Has anyone compared this to the cloud nine c989m? i'm torn between those two and no one has done a comparison i could find.

Cloud9 released a new board which is basically a clone of this but has some advantages that I prefer (just bought mine). 1. The Edge tenting attachment has terrible reviews and without it you can't tent at all, whereas the c9 has a 7 degree tent built in which I find perfect. 2. The c9's wheel is a pretty nice experience that's unique in the market. If I gamed a lot I expect I'd like the volume control function, but as my work board I'm using it to replace alt-tab and like it a lot. Had the Kinesis come with a tenting solution out of the box that dozens of reviews weren't claiming constantly folded under pressure (I use a standing desk so I put a fair amount of pressure on my palm rests) then I definitely would have gone with Kinesis as to not reward Chinese knock-offs. But I have no regrets. The c9 legit brought a smile to my face the first time I used it, and I'm at least 10% more productive because of the typing enjoyment and increased speed over my Surface ergo keyboard.

Will this keyboard be available with mx silent red or mx speed silver switches? if not, are the switches user swappable?

Switches are not "hot-swappable", they would need to be desoldered to swap switch type. No plans for Silent Reds, but Silvers will be available in November.

Does anyone have a case suggestion? I need to carry the keyboard around in a backpack and I want to protect it.

I've carried it in a cloth bag in a backpack without problem, but I haven't seen a better case so far. Be extra careful with the linking cable making sure it does not twist in weird angles as that might damage it
