Joan Rivers Great Hair Day Root Touch Up Powder, Ash Blonde, Root Concealer

This really blends well and covers thin spots and does great with the gray hairs that frame my face. I bought two or three other, less expensive products but there is no comparison to the Joan Rivers Great Day Hair touch up powder. It absolutely stays on for several days or until your next wash. It is quite a bit more expensive than others, but for the quality it is totally worth it. They also do a bundle with a touch up pencil that's only $7 more. The pencil isn't as good as the powder, but it's good for when I travel. The only negative comment I have is color accuracy. The Ash Blond has lots of red, more like a Strawberry Blonde, so I gave mine to a relative with red hair. I ended up going with the Blonde which is almost a medium Brown; offering a Medium Blonde would be really popular. I love it so much I bought a set for a teen relative that has really thin hair and spots where her scalp shows through, and the Medium Brown works great for her.

The first shipment was delivered in an empty paper envelope that had not been properly sealed on one end, but when I reported that I had received an empty package, another one was sent immediately and this product is amazing. Nothing makes you look older than a pink scalp showing through your hair this makes my hair look, thick and young.!!!!

I’ve used this powder for several years. As I have aged, my hair has gotten thinner and scalp was showing. My hairdresser was amazed at the difference this product makes. I use it after each shampoo. Doesn’t rub off on pillowcases and stays until the next shampoo. Saves me from having to use a hair topper.

This fill in powder is very easy to use. As a senior, my hair is getting a little thin along the part line. Just tap the brush into the powder and then tap it onto your hair where you need it. Easy and stays put until you wash it out. I would recommend it.

The idea behind the product is wonderful but to match the colour is essential for it to work properly. The "ash blonde" was an peculiar shade of yellow that when put along the part as directed, coloured the scalp oddly. It works on the hair itself but does not disguise any "bald" areas such as bare scalp unless it perfectly matches to look normal. For darker shades it would be fine.
