The old steering wheel was faded and damaged from the sun so we replaced it with this, I just didn’t know what I was missing. Having the knob is amazing because it helps you prevent over steering. When driving slow the vote often wants to meander back-and-forth and it becomes a chore to maintain a direct course. With the knob you recognize there’s about a quarter turn for controlling the walk of the boat. By oversteering you have to overcorrect. If he becomes a major hassle.We also get a lot of comments that the boat looks nice with this upgrade.I can’t tell you how long it’s going to last but it looks Well constructed and I would trust it it would last quite a long time.

No complaints about the product itself or the seller....it's the same wheel as SeaChoice sells for 1/4 the price. However, this 1/2-20 retainer nut will NOT fit Uflex helms, which use the M12-1.75 retainer nut. So I did have to spend another $25 for the correct size nut...either way, it's still a good buy so long as you're aware the nut will only fit Teleflex (SeaStar) helms and others that use the 1/2-20 thread.
