VHS tapes are not of the quality they were back in the day of VHS---they are OK but not great. If you use the SP mode you can get 2hrs of fairly good programing. Back in the day you could get 6 hrs of good programing day after day. Now days , 30 days and they are trash ! It appears as if the folks in charge want you to rent their DVR's------The cost of the current VHS tapes almost make that choice for you !! Old school unhappy camper !!

The most horrible VHS tapes I ever bought.
I just got these VHS tapes and used one of them. It was horrible recording quality. I recorded it through TV but the quality of the picture was so bad although the picture on TV was very clear. I have used so many TDK VHS tapes in my life but have never had bad experience until now. It is so ironic that the name of this product is called "Premium Quality" VHS Cassettes. Yet they are very poor quality tapes. I am very, very disappointed.

Good For General Usage Recording
Love TDK VHS tapes for general usage. Want to stock up on blank tapes while they are still in manufacture. Purchased a couple new DVD/VHS recorders and a few more blank tapes would go down good.

Reliable and Crisp
I have been using these, as well as the Maxell High Grade tapes to tape 50s TV episodes. The TDK tapes are more reliable, and the picture seems crisper - though the old programs lose detail going from a smaller screen format that they were shown in during the 50s to present-day screen sizes and technology. That is not the fault of the tapes.
