It's helping me, and that's the long & short of it.
I'm a long term allergy sufferer and chronic sinus infections are the norm for me. I've had allergies since teenage years, have done every bit of everything possible including allergy shots, ENT doctors, MRI's, homeopathic, prescription, nose sprays and saline sprays. I've tried every combination, dosage and antibiotic. Many times. For several years large volume saline wash was my prescription for some limited amount of relief, mainly the NeilMed Sinus Rinse Regular Kit 1 kit . It helps, but my sinuses are so swollen at times that the water doesn't all want to come out even when leaning forward, and as it trickles out throughout the day or night I get earaches from it running over the Eustachian tubes. The exhaustion, complete tiredness, groggy foggy mind that comes from it? All of that. Hopefully that's enough to give you an idea of my level of suffering from sinus and allergy problems. On a personal recommendation I decided to try this product. It took me 2 or 3 bottles to figure out how it best worked for me. At first, it definitely wasn't hurting but I couldn't tell how much it was helping. Many people dilute it, and I found for me I'm best off to use it full strength. Rather than a whole bottle of saline, or this mixed with saline, using just an ounce or so of this, just enough to rinse from each side to the other, has been enough to bring me a new level of relief and decongestion. I choose to use the bottle that came with my NeilMed kit rather than the rinser that comes with this kit. Being someone who has to watch the BP, I also have to stay way from the decongestants and this has been a great alternative. I find this especially helpful to use an hour or two before bed and using far less liquid means I have much less issue with drainage at night like with the saline in a higher volume. Not to get too explicit, but this is the first product that not only decongests my nose but also causes me to need to spit after I've used it. When I used it mixed with saline, I had mediocre results. It had a good smell but really didn't get at decongesting me. At full strength I get the results I'd hoped for, but I doubt someone could start using this product full strength. It takes some time to get used to the momentary burn you get after it drains out-- a little bit like smelling salts or having a soda bubble back up into your nose. And that being said, I don't have "rebound issues" like you can with prescription saline sprays that cause you to get really congested again right after it runs out. The smell of the product is very much like a menthol, and while it doesn't smell like Vicks "vapo-rub" it can have a similar effect on the nose, and "punches you right in the face" for a second or two after using it. But it works. It's not so bad to make me tear up or anything like that. On the downside, the bottles aren't that big. If you plan to completely replace your saline routine like I have (mostly), it can get to be a little expensive. As well, if you travel you'll have to check it since it's already liquid, whereas the saline packets travel well but require clean water at your destination. On the other hand, even a bottle a week is still in the general vicinity of a prescription nose spray. So in summary: This product is now my product of choice. It took me 2-3 bottles to figure out how it was most effective for me, and other than cost, I have yet to discover any downsides. I can't call it a miracle like others, but it does help me stay functional and "non-funky" in the nose department. I waited more than a month before writing my review to give adequate opinion time.

I feel a diference, small but significant.
If you suffer from chronic allergies any relief goes a long way. I just found Alkalol and it has given me that small relief that makes the biggest difference. I've had all kinds of issues with my sinuses and actually had a deviated septum corrected as well as enlarged inferior turbinates, which have been reduced to about 50% of what they were. This helped a lot in so many ways, but also created a huge issue because many more allergens are able to wreak havoc on my sinuses because they are "normal" now. I breath better but suffer more from allergies all year long, which is almost counter intuitive. I use a Neti Pot and have for a number of years, it really helps. Adding Alkalol to my Neti Pot along with some saline packets has really improved my overal results. Alkalol loosens mucus much better and soothes my sinuses the way afrin does. Alkalol is a great alternative to chemical nasal sprays, especially since recent studies have shown that dependency on chemical nasal sprays can lead to a worsening of overall chronic sinus symptoms. Let's get this straight from the beginning though, that this is not the cure all miracle product that I wish it was, but it has changed my life for the better. I look forward to using this once or twice daily (once in the morning and once an hour or two before bed). I feel a substantial improvement overall. I can breath better and I can go almost the entire day without feeling many of the symptoms a chronic allergy sufferer endures daily. Like most others have stated this is powerful stuff. Find what ratio works best for you. It took me a few times to find what was best for me and to completely adjust to the sensation that is produced when you use Alkalol. After that it's smooth sailing. I do not use the included blue nose piece. I use a NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Bottle filled with water and about 1.2 ounces of Alkalol and one saline packet (half of the bottle on each side/nostril), which has been working great. At two rinses per day I go through 1 bottle of Alkalol per week, at 1 rinse per day it's 1 bottle of Alkalol per 2 weeks. I would say I average about 3 bottles/month. That's around $24/month without side effects. This ends up being cheaper than using prescriptions to counteract your allergy symptoms. Depending on what over the counter drugs you choose it can be less expensive as well. When using prescription or over the counter allergy medication I dry out and tend to get nose bleeds, then there is always the drowsiness that accompanies most allergy meds, even the ones that are "non-drowsy". One of the biggest benefits that I have enjoyed with using Alkalol is no side effects. Now all they need to do is make a 32 ounce and 64 ounce version!

This is a great product. If one has any kind of sinus condition, I find it indispensable. If one has an infection it burns for a few seconds at first. As the infection diminishes, the burning stops. I cant recommend it highly enough. Best solution I’ve ever used.

This stuff is incredible, I mixed it with Tea Tree and sprayed directly into my nose. After about 5 minutes, the mucus begins to loosen and you're free to blow and clear your nose!

I have chronic sinus and allergy issues, so any relief goes a long way. I use Alkalol with my sinus rinse irrigation bottle and this combination has given me that small relief that makes the biggest difference. It's not a cure-all by any means, but being all-natural I don't feel hesitant to use it as often as I want when I'm going through an episode.

This wash is amazing, and I recommend it to anyone who uses neti. I always mix a little in with my normal neti, and it just adds that perfect amount of refreshing awesomeness. A little extra for cold fighting or if your having a very hard time trying to get started in the morning.

Not as advertised no measuring cup just bottle and no box with details. Website indicates this should be sold together as well.
