Creating light posts!!
I needed to create, a mobile light post, so I ordered an 8 ft pole and these little units. I affixed a solar light to the top of it, now I have a mobile light pole. Works wonderful. I needed to create, a mobile light post, so I ordered an 8 foot pole and these little units. I affixed a solar light to the top of it, now I have a mobile light pole. Works wonderful. Very stable, and made very well. I may paint them black though. The white is very bright. Hmmm may be good from a safety stabd point tho. Now im not sure what Im going to do because when fully extended, it does have a span of about 2 feet, so having them white, may be better.

Good for what I'm using it for
I teach summer school and have to bring students out for recess. There is zero shade, and we are mostly standing on blacktop. Years ago, I bought an SPF beach umbrella and held onto it so it would stay up. I hadn't been able to find a stand that wasn't weighted (didn't want to carry it out for 25 minutes) or very expensive. I'm glad I found this one.It folds up, so it's easy to store and carry. My students often volunteer to carry it out. I will say, you definitely need both hands and ok grip to use it. You have to pull up on the leg to get it to unlock then fold it out and make sure it locks back into place. I have bad joints due to old injuries and did struggle a bit. I had a student hold onto the base while I pulled on the leg of the stand when one got a bit stuck. If you plan to use this on uneven ground or sand, I do not recommend it without some kind of a weight. It fell over in the grass immediately, or I had to hold it up. It worked great on a flat surface.

Flimsy
It arrived in very bad shape. The base was bent such that it wouldn't sit straight. One corner of the center piece looked like it had been run over. We attempted to use it anyway, but it was too flimsy to hold up the umbrella!

Worked okay but...
Just like other people said, mine arrived with corners bent but it didn't affect the function. It's just really flimsy so I felt I couldn't trust it not to buckle from the weight of the umbrella. My very standard umbrella also didn't fit (hole was nearly the same size as the pole) so we had to improvise. Fortunately, we had a piece of PVC pipe that fit in it and inside the umbrella pole. This was only an option because we had an umbrella with a hollow metal pole. It made the umbrella much higher than we wanted. I wouldn't trust it in inclimate weather but at least it held up for the entire camping trip

Portable umbrella stand
There were no directions in the box. I was afraid I was going to break it, trying to pull on the legs to get it open. My arthritic hands had a challenge. It's exactly what it says it is. I wanted it to take to the beach but I'm using it in the back yard for an extra umbrella . The other two aren't on wheels and are too heavy to move. This one can be moved anywhere. Don't know what a wind storm is going to do yet.

This does NOT fit normal umbrellas!!!! Take note
I bought one like this last year and love it. Now I need another one so I ordered this again...but not the same company. Once I got it unfolded....not an easy task, I realized my umbrella pole is too large. Dang....another trip to return an amazon product which I am glad is offered! Just beware. And...I cannot imagine using this at the beach...!
