Great piece of kit.
Really good piece of kit.. i bought it for my 8yr old sons birthday and he is a beginner.. really easy to put together and can tweak when needed. Sound is really good and give us everything we need for a beginner. Very impressed. The whole family love it :)

So enjoyable, great drum sounds
I love it. Really nice sounds. Easy to set up. I’m a beginner but I feel like I could learn a lot with this kit without having to buy another one any time soon. Folds away nicely too. Super fast delivery also.

Good value for the price
Bought them for my husband for Christmas I haven’t seen much of him since! Instruction could be better we used the picture to put everything in its right place so a bit hit and miss ( frustrating) the product sounds great, doesn’t take up to much room and it folds away too.. most importantly when the headphones are plugged in it’s almost silent!!!

Use with a PC if you want expensive sound for cheap.
It's unfair to judge an electric drum machine on audio sample quality (or "how it sounds") in my opinion. If you hate the sounds that come out of it, Buy a MIDI cable for £10 and set up an old laptop or computer with a free drum program on it. There, your £200 drum kit now sounds five times as expensive as it was. I recommend setting up any digital audio workstation with "MT power drum kit" VSTi plugin. As for all instruments, it goes without saying, quality and price have a general correlation, and £200 is very much a budget option. In terms of playing quality, it does the job. It's very clearly a beginner's kit, feels okay to play, great to fool around with and see if you'd like to continue with drums any further. I got it because it was cheap and I wanted a MIDI input for my computer that resembled a drum kit. That's exactly what I got, it's exactly what it says on the tin. It works, it sends MIDI signals with good accuracy. If drums aren't going to be your main instrument or you're just testing the waters with them, or you're like me and don't mind having them set up next to a computer, this cheap little kit is perfect. As for actual professional drumming, however, you shouldn't be reading a review written by someone who probably isn't a drummer on a beginner's drum kit. Behave yourself and go look at something more expensive. To iterate once again, if you are willing to use a MIDI cable to a PC for this instead of plugging headphones straight in, it will sound like any drum kit on earth, including ones a thousand times better sounding than the sample kits included. You are not limited to the sounds of the drum kit alone. Please do look into this option, no matter what cheap electric drum kit you buy.

Cheap, flimsy and not fit for purpose
I bought this set as I was just starting and didn't want to spend too much money. Initially it seemed like good value for money. However, I have encountered a number of issues that make me wish I have spent more, and not on a Carlsbro.First, after two months, the bass pedal snapped. The supplier sent a replacement, which has just snapped. I contacted Carlsbro who suggested I could buy an upgraded pedal which was sturdier. Hardly a ringing endorsement of their product.Seconding, I was practising an exam piece which involved opening and closing the hi-hat and I noticed that occassionally the hi-hat would continue to ring after I had pressed the pedal, making it sound like I hadn't pressed the pedal. Again, I contacted Carlsbro, who asked me to send a video and responded:It sounds like you are triggering HiHat splash, this happens when you lift your foot quickly off of the HiHat pedal.Unfortunately HiHat splash is an independent MIDI note and command so it cannot be stopped by any other HiHat function. On the CSD100 HiHat splash trigger and timbre control cannot be adjusted, it is preset on this module type.Frankly, I think that is a bit rubbish, as it means that I can't use my drum kit for my exam otherwise the examiner will think I haven't pressed the hi-hat pedal when I have.Thirdly, I have noticed that on very rare occassions, I hit the snare drum and get a completely weird sound out of the kit. I can't replicate it, so I just have to ignore it.So, if you are looking for a beginners kit, I suggest you spend you money on something else

Not quite a Roland!!
Great for kids who wanna make noise, in fact it's fun for anyone! Only downside is the bass drum pedal is quiet, unrealistic feeling and this can't be replaced as the module doesn't accept individual inputs. Can't really grumble for the price tho.
