NeatReceipts Mobile Document Scanner and Digital Filing System for PC and Mac (Renewed)

Great scanner for what I need it for. I use it for basic receipts and random papers that I don't need sitting in my desk. Only problem I have had is when I got it dirty putting a sticky paper in. When I used the felt cleaning paper soaked in running alcohol, it cleaned it right up. Quality of the scans are great and it does a decent job of filling out the important information from receipts and business cards.On to the the software trial. There seems to be a miscommunication that Neat should clarify. I signed up and got the 30 day trial and when it ended, I thought I was locked out of my account and files. I called their support and they informed me that the code I had used to make my account was actually good for a year. After a year, the subscription is moved to a basic one which isn't paid, just loses the fancy tools like QB export and NeatVerify.For a single guy with limited space, this device is a lifesaver.

I have had the Neat Desktop for years, but recently decided to purchase the Neat Receipts scanner. It's great for those on the go jobs you have when you want to take a scanner with you.

I bought this refurbished NEAT mobile scanner from Amazon. Compact and easy to set up and use. It scans and files everything from receipts to pdf and word documents as well. BTW this is my second NEAT portable scanner that I've purchased and used over the past decade. I travel a lot so the case is important, it comes with a new NeatReicepts scanner but if you buy a refurbished device it may not. It is a hard case and and protects the scanner should my luggaged get bounced around - and what are the chances that would happen?

I had high hopes for organizing my receipts when I bought this Neat NM-1000 Document Scanner. As it turns out, it no longer works with Windows XP, because the software has been "End of Lifed." I know, I know, I know, I should upgrade, but upgrading the OS on an old machine that's full of files is NOT an option for EVERY user in the world. That said, I decided to install it on a family member's new PC. That's fine, but NeatCo has moved to a "cloud" (Server Farm) based version of the software which REQUIRES an ongoing paid subscription to function. NO DICE! I didn't buy hardware just for it to require ongoing payments to USE it!I contacted support and they said I could use it without a subscription, but needed to install an old version of the software which has been, you guessed it, "End of Lifed." So BACK it goes!Postscript: A friend recommended the "Doxie Go Wifi" scanner. I just received it and is DOES work with older PCs - including ones running Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8. It's looking like Doxie is the way to go - at least for us.

Arrived securely packaged, unlike one from another company. Works great with my 5.7 software.

I cannot use it so it is a total waste of money and I could not return it due to the deadline passed. The info on it led me to believe that I did NOT have to be online to use the thing for QuickBooks Pro and you have to use the ONLINE version in order to use the scanner. I cannot use the online version of QBP because my internet is sketchy and it would cost me a fortune in MG!! Not at all pleased with anything having to do with this!!

I owned neat receipts previously and the scanner went on me, I expected that this would simply connect and replace ... but apparently different versions of the app work with different revisions of the scanner -- I'm able to use it by scanning with the OS application and importing into Neat, but the app won't work, it trips up too often. I like the concept and notion of Neat, wish their stuff wasn't so buggy and incompatible between their different versions. With Quickbooks letting me scan into quick now, I may not have a long term use for Neat.

This scanner is exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to setup and user friendly. It is compact so I can easily store it away until I need it.
