Is this TSA approved? (In other words can you take this on a plane? Those pointy scissors make me think this would not be allowed)

According to the TSA, scissors are allowed if the blades are shorter than 4 inches. However, you are at the mercy of the TSA agent who might not know or care to follow the rules and confiscate them anyway. "Scissors - metal with pointed tips and blades shorter than 4 inches are allowed, but blades longer than 4 inches are prohibited." tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items

Will this kit work for little boys, or just little girls?

Certainly It is non-denominational also :-) Many colors and everything you need for simple repairs. If it is a Pack or some other camping equipment I would recommend a Rathco kit as the thread is more heavy duty but maybe less suited for clothing repair as the thread is only in military colors. Be ad vised the sisors are very cheap and probably only good for cutting the thread. I have both they are very inexpensive.

When closed, what are the dimensions of the kit? Width, length, thickness?

I don't have it in front of me, but when closed it's like 5"x5"x1" or maybe 6"x4"x1". (Length x Width x Height)

I cant get any threads to unwind! They're wound up so tight and won't come loose. How do i fix?
