This is ONLY MY OPINION! After reading multiple reviews, I bought it. I have acne scars I want to get rid of and new acne all the time due to wearing a mask for 12 hours at work (stupid covid.) Well some of the reviews on here said it gave people “chemical burns.” So day one I used just a tiny bit, working my way up to using it on my whole face about a week later. I ended up getting a chemical burn area on my chin. Sorry, didn’t take pictures. It lasted about a week and luckily healed. I haven’t used it since. Just be cautious if you have sensitive skin. I will say, I bought Curology and it has done WONDERS for me. Look in to it.

Given the small container and my desire to get rid of the acne scars all over my back, this product did little damage, even after running with a few more bottles to test the waters, only to burn it within a couple weeks (it didn't last a week for my backne, I'm just saying a couple weeks to make it sound better.) I have even applied some to my face (assuming that's where it should be used, unless skin is weird and different depending on your body part), but I have not seen any changes. I have always washed up before and spread it out evenly across the effected layer, only to receive no good results, even with daily persistence.

I used it for 6 weeks straight. Went on vacation and a couple weeks later started up again. Pros: One pump is all I need to cover all the areas desired on my face and neck. It's easy to dispense. Oddly enough, it feels kind of good going on my skin. I've had no bad reactions to it. There. I said a few positive things! Haha. Cons: Pertaining to my reactions comment, I've actually had no reaction to it good or bad. Fine lines are the same, small amount of zits are the same, larger pores are the same. Everything is the same. Remember the funny TV sitcom, "Seinfeld" and the show about nothing? Well, the expensive, tiny, little bottle of CeraVe, for me, has been the lotion about nothing, with the joke on me. CeraVe, I would accept a refund any time or an exchange for another product that might actually be helpful.

I have used other retinol creams but I tested this on my neck and whatever extras are in this made my neck break out badly nasty red bumps that are sore which I never ever get breakouts normally so it’s got to be the cream.. I don’t know if it’s an acne or rash but I’m so glad I didn’t try on my face it’s nasty and the skin appears swollen on chest I can’t risk trying this repeatedly to see if it’s “ purging” just disappointing and way over priced the company should really lose sleep at night for how overpriced these are.. guess we have thanks2 tik tok for diving up the cost of skin care

This is my first time trying a CeraVe product. It definitely lightened up my acne scars, but on day 3, my skin started drying up. I stopped using it after day 3, its been more than 7 days now and the affected area is beginning to get red. I thought it would go away if i stop applying the product but Im gonna have to visit a doctor now because it stings. And, i know for a fact i dont have a sensitive skin.

If you are prone to cystic acne DO NOT USE THIS. Purging with a retinol (breaking out more at first) can be normal but this product increased my cystic acne all over my jawline horribly and never went away. I researched it and it contains Isopropyl Myristate which is highly comedogenic for many people. It is known to create dense, hard plugs deep inside your pores…the exact recipe for jawline cysts. I will be switching to Differin.

I have been using the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum for almost two weeks, hoping it would help reduce acne marks and dark spots on my skin. Unfortunately, I have not noticed any visible improvement so far. While the texture is light and it absorbs quickly without irritation, the results are disappointing compared to the high price. For me, it did not deliver on the claims, and I honestly don’t think it is worth purchasing at this cost. I will continue my skincare routine with other products that have shown more noticeable effects.

I was super confident this would work because of the reviews, so i didn’t take a before picture. Keep in mind my skin has never been irritated by all the products i’ve tried before, even ones with harsh chemicals. I followed the directions, first day i did a pea size with the serum and sunscreen as said in the directions, everything was fine. I didn’t want to use daily because i didn’t know if my skin could handle it or not, after 3 applications my skin starts drying up, so i started putting it on top of my skin care, that didn’t do anything, then I just put moisturizer, serum, and sunscreen. That didn’t work either, so i went back to just the serum and sunscreen. Also i didn’t do this in days back to back, I did this every other day. I never noticed how red my skin was getting, it was so itchy but I tried not to scratch it. I thought maybe it was my fault because i put too much products, but I went back to my original skincare routine without this serum and my skin is slowly going back to normal. This works for everyone else but not for me. The worst part is, i’m trying to return it but they don’t allow open return products. I understand as to why but it’s not fair to the ones who’s also like me and the product dosent work for them. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT MADE MY SKIN WORSE, PEELING, AND RED. *Use at your own risk* Just keep in mind you cannot return the product if its opened.

My mom had really bad acne scarring and pigmentation due to lack of sun protection when she was young. Used this on her and the results after 3 months were very encouraging, her scars and dark spots are almost all gone now. She has oily skin, so she didn’t have any trouble with the product applied directly to her face without moisturiser. For my combination skin, I need to apply a moisturiser at the dry parts before applying this. Highly recommended

I started using CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum mainly to improve uneven skin texture and post-acne marks. After a few weeks of use, I noticed my skin looking smoother and more even. What I liked is that the formula feels very lightweight and absorbs quickly, without the heavy or greasy feeling some serums have. I usually apply it at night after cleansing, followed by a moisturizer, and it sits well on the skin without irritation.
