low quality product
I bought this wire rack holder because the local hardware stores don't sell them (probably because of their terrible quality!). I was very disappointed with this product.1. The rack was the recommended product together with the window boxes (Dynamic Design HX2412FE Hampton 24-Inch Snap-Fit Poly Rim Window Box) that I got. However, THE WIRE HOLDER IS TOO WIDE FOR THIS WINDOW BOX! DO NOT GET THIS HOLDER for the above-described boxes.2. The quality is extremely poor - immediately after I put my boxes onto the holders, the bottom support bent. Also, the weight of the box (which was only a 24'' box, and the holders are advertised to handle up to 36'') caused the over-the-rail joints to bend apart, and one joint to fail (more description below).3. The design is terrible. Also not clear from the pictures online is a description of the mechanism by which the holder hangs over the rail. The mechanism is: the body of the holder is supported by an L-bracket, which fits together with a second, unattached, L-bracket to form an upside-down U over the railing. This junction is secured by three screws + screwtops over the top portion of the U. There are several problems with this arrangement:· the screwtops are just plastic. Attempting to tighten them once there is any load on the holder only strips the plastic inside the screwtop and causes even more looseness. This is an inappropriate design to bear any weight. I was very unpleasantly surprised when I saw this, and think it is even dishonest not to describe the mechanism better online, as it would most definitely influence people's decision to buy this product.· Once attached, if there are anything except perfect 90° angles between the front, top and back edges of your railing (as there is in mine, since I have a wrought iron 2" rail with 1" wide bars), the front of the holder will tip forward to begin with, and the rear L-bracket (the second, originally unattached piece) will lean away from the railing. No additional materials are provided to somehow secure this portion of the holder. This is both unattractive and potentially dangerous.

Serves it's purpose.
I had a hard time finding a flower box holder that would fit on the outside of my deck railing for planting herbs. While I wish it was a bit narrower (depth, not width), it serves it's purpose. While it seems kind of flimsy, it does hold my herbs with no problem.

Just ok.
Nice that it was adjustable, however it is a lot wider than standard flower boxes and they don't sit very secure.

Light duty only
Purchased 10 of these units - returned 2 due to missing parts(!). Used with 36" plastic flower beds - really a typical implementation for this holder. Craftsmanship of product is good, design and material are poor. The depth of the holder is roughly 9" and most flower boxes are 6". Thus, the flower box will slide forward away from where the mounts are located - and the holder fails, bending badly and dropping the box (needed to construct a simple bracket that keeps the flower box pressed back against the back of the mount. The mounting bracket is in two pieces and comes with aluminum pan head screws and plastic/nylon nuts - pretty useless. Had to purchase additional bolts, washers and nuts.Am now adding forged metal brackets under each holder to stop them from failing; bending over and dropping the plants after (moderate/normal) watering.Overall the holders are for light duty only. Hopefully the manufacturer will correct the design.

Not as adverstised.
This is not an adjustable box holder. It is an open ended, static box holder that is too big (deep) for standard window boxes. The only adjustable portion is the mounting bracket, but it is so poorly manufactured that it doesn't hold (it fell off the railing as soon as I put the empty windox box onto the holder). If you want it to stay in place, you will have to use 4 screws (not provided) to screw it into your wood railing (2 screws per mounting bracket); if your railing is metal, you are out of luck. The manufacturing is terrible - the coating on the metal is thin in several spots, and will undoubtedly cause it to rust in the near future. The holder is also not squared, and the mounting brackets aren't even the same length. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Adds needed natural color to bare railings
We bought two of these holders in black for our front black iron railings. After purchasing two flower boxes that fit the holders, we found it's the perfect way to use colorful flowers and plants to add a punch of color and interest to an otherwise bare, uninteresting railing. The holders were easy to install on the railings. I'm looking forward to spring so I can once again plant the boxes and enjoy the blooming all season long.

Does not include all necessary pieces, included hardware is not adequate, overall not sturdy
- I ordered two of these holders and unfortunately neither came with the necessary L brackets to hold the frame to my railing.- The hardware included with the brackets were 6 very small screws and 6 plastic nuts that did not seem to grip the screws correctly, and were a pain to try to fasten. I ended up ditching these with my final solution.- The depth of the holder is much much wider than your typical window planter; be prepared to have ~6" extra space between the end of the holder and the wall- I ended up zip-tieing the two planter boxes together, with the two straddling the railing, and then further zip-tieing the holders to the railing, as well as the boxes to the holders. This was a very janky solution, it does work, but it is not how i intended it to be positioned.
