Solid Starter Set for Weekend Woodworking Projects
Solid Starter Set for Weekend Woodworking Projects I’ve used this KOWOOD 15-piece router bit set for various weekend projects over the past month, including rounding edges on shelves, cutting dadoes for cabinet interiors, and chamfering corners on a workbench . The assortment covers all the basics a beginner needs—straight bits, roundover, chamfer, rabbeting, and dovetail cutters—all with 1/4-inch shanks . Bits are sharp out of the box and the carbide tips hold an edge reasonably well for softwoods and plywood . The included case keeps bits organized and prevents rattling, though the plastic could be sturdier for long-term storage . For the price, getting 15 bits is far cheaper than buying them individually, making it a great value for hobbyists . If you’re doing heavy production or hardwood work, you might want premium bits sooner, but for occasional weekend use, this set performs admirably . Overall, it’s a dependable, five-star choice for stocking a beginner’s router kit.

Practical affordable starter / light-use set
Let's be clear - these are not heavy-duty commercial-grade router bits. If you try to use them on anything at all tough, or a large project, they're going to wear out quickly. But, that's not what these are for. This is a good wide variety of common types of router bits, in a cheap but serviceably handy case, suitable for someone just starting out in using routers or with a smallish project where you don't know exactly which bit would be best. You'll not likely find a more affordable set this comprehensive, and it's so much easier to grab a router you already have and "give it a go" to see if it does what you want. Then, once you've figured out exactly the right tool you need, you can spend the same or more as this set cost, on a good-quality version of that one single bit you've decided is the one you need. Over time your collection of good-quality bits will grow, without having to break the bank all at once with bits you may never actually use. I have this set, a handful of good bits for specific projects, and now I can easily test and figure out what exactly I need to get next. Recommended! Just don't set your expectations unreasonably high.

Descent for the price. I am pleased.

Good variety
Good bits. Nice case. Like that the spacer bearing can be swapped between bits for smaller or larger profiles.

Great value set for sign making and hobby work
I’ve been using this KOWOOD router bit set for a few months now, mostly for making wooden signs, and I’ve been really happy with the results. The bits have held up well — they’re still sharp after multiple projects and cuts through pine and cedar with no trouble. This set gives you a great variety of profiles for a beginner or hobbyist, especially at this price. I included a photo of the edge detail on one of my signs so you can see the clean finish they produce. The storage case is nice to have for keeping everything organized, though the quality of the case itself feels a little cheap. Still, for the value you’re getting in the bits themselves, it’s hard to complain. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a solid assortment of router bits without breaking the bank.

Decent, but nothing special
These are fine. They absolutely work as intended, but they are not high quality and a good deal of bits I'll probably never use. Of the bits that I've used, they have not lasted as long as bits that I've purchased elsewhere. Having said that, you are getting a lot of bits for the money.

Surprisingly good for an inexpensive set
So far, really good. I've used these both in a palm router and a CNC router (with 1/4" collet). My only issue so far is chamfering edges (they're not always even), but I think that's just a skill issue.

Great budget hobbyist set.
These fit perfectly in my 18 volt cordless rigid portable router. They are mid to low quality, but perform decently enough. I appreciate having a variety of shapes and styles. As they get dull they like to hang up and Chip your wood. When they're sharp, they cut well, but as they get dull they have a hard time cutting through hard spots in the wood. Like any tool, if you take care of them and use them properly they should last a while. I would not say that these are professional quality bits, but would recommend them for occasional use by a hobbyist. Great homeowner product. I appreciate having the wooden carrying case they came in, although the case is not super sturdy.

False size
The size is not true. I’ve tried it on Bosch router machine 1/4 same size but it wouldn’t fit. I had to buy a new set of collets to use it

Bad quality
Some of the bits shipped in first use. They seemed sharp but were blunt after only a few passes on on a rather soft wood. Wouldn’t buy again.
