The simplest, most versatile sandal your feet will ever love. We’ll let Xero Shoes expert, Randy Kreill, tell you about the Genesis: Start enjoying your Xero Shoes Genesis just moments after they arrive in your mailbox. It’s called the Genesis because it was inspired by our first product, our DIY sandal kit, and one of mankind’s first footwear designs. Then, of course, we updated it with the experience we’ve had and feedback we’ve gotten, from making barefoot-friendly sandals since 2009. Why you’ll love the Genesis: The right combination of barefoot-friendly ground feel plus protection, thanks to our exclusive 5mm FeelTrue® rubber outsoles Lightweight – men’s 9 is only 4.6 ounces each Elegant contour to hold your foot, but without unnecessary support Pre-laced — just slide in your foot and go Patent-pending tension adjustment system — find the perfect fit in seconds, and then you can slide your Xeros on and off in a flash Super soft toe loop — since the huaraches-inspired lacing goes around your entire foot, you don’t feel the toe loop the way you do in a flip-flop or other thong sandal Nylon Achilles strap with Silicone grip — holds on securely and comfortably Elevated ankle holes — the lace never touches the ground, and so it won’t abrade Trim to fit — with just kitchen scissors, you can trim the Genesis to match your foot shape Vegan-friendly 5,000-mile sole warranty! Review: So comfy - These are fantastic, grip well, even in wet, can adjust the fit, even lent them to a friend whose feet were 2 sizes bigger when her shoes started to rub and she loved them too. These are now my go to sandal. Review: Great everyday minimalist sandal - Comfortable huarache style, minimalist sandal. Needs some playing with to get laces right for you (and will need regular adjustments as you go) but great once you find the sweet spot. Feels like there's nothing there but protects your foot from anything sharp or too rough. I've worn these almost exclusively since buying them for everyday and running use.

So comfy
These are fantastic, grip well, even in wet, can adjust the fit, even lent them to a friend whose feet were 2 sizes bigger when her shoes started to rub and she loved them too. These are now my go to sandal.

Barefoot simulation and Straps.
Comfortable, simulates bare feet adequately. Straps can be a fit fiddly to get right fit but fine once adjusted to your foot requirements.

Great shoes
I genuinely love these sandals. The sizing as suggested by Amazon's clever algorithm was bob on and and, to be honest, other than when I'm in bed or wearing my climbing shoes, they haven't been off my feet. I've been looking for some barefoot sandals for a while now as I'm leaning more into the barefoot footwear. These were exactly what I was after. 5 stars from me.

Quite comfortable
More comfortable than I expected, especially between the toes. Can get quite a lot of sand underfoot on the beach though due to low profile sole. Lightweight and thin making it great for travel.

overpriced
One star for minimalism and being travel friendly. The laces snapped after around 10 uses. It happened while wearing them, so I was lucky not to fall down stairs or anything like that. Xero sent new laces and inks to a youtube video on how to replace them. I haven't managed to do it despite many efforts and perhaps because I don't have the tools required, at least a multitool, as described in the video. This is from a comment on youtube (not mine), which I think is spot on: "its nowhere as easy as the video makes it look. For reference in replacing the toe stap on a pair of auquas. You will need Lighter, Multi tool ( leatherman), a box cutter is a good choice for opening it up, Elbow grease, String thumbs, spit" All in all, I'm not happy, mostly because of the price I paid for these. They look cool, they are barefoot and adjustable but that's about it.

Freedom
Love these sandals. Comfortable but barefoot feeling. I managed to drive in these and the grip was awesome. Can’t wait for weather to warm up to wear more

Comfort
Really comfortable, however manufacturers 5000mile guarantee seems optimistic as sole is already wearing down from April till now, will see.

A little more cushion
They are very stylish, if they had a little more cushion they will be perfect

Most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, once you get the straps adjusted
I first bought these Genesis shoes back in 2020. They were very comfortable, but I could never get the strap around the back of the heals adjusted correctly so that they would stay in place. They kept sliding down off of the heal which leaves nothing to keep the shoes on your feet. I gave up and didn't wear them for a couple of years. In 2022, I found a video on the Xero shoes website on how to properly adjust the straps. I decided to give them another try. With a bit of trial and error, I was finally able to get the heal straps to stay in place. Once they were adjusted correctly, I found that they were the most comfortable shoe I'd ever worn. I wear them everywhere. The soles are thin, which is a big part of their appeal. They're extremely comfortable on flat or soft surfaces. Walking around a store, on pavement or in the dirt or grass is almost like being barefoot, only better. The pavement gets HOT where I live and these things do a great job of protecting my feet from the heat. Most of the time, I barely know they're on my feet. The thin soles aren't so great when walking on gravel, stone or other rough or jagged surfaces. If I know I'll be walking on those types of surfaces, I'll wear my Xero Z-Trek IIs which have a thicker sole and provide more protection. After about a year of wearing the Genesis' full time, the rubber tag on the back of both heals came unglued which allowed the thread holding the ends of the straps together to come apart. Sad, but they lived a productive life. For a while, I promoted the Z-Trek IIs to my full time shoe. They're good, comfortable shoes, in their own right, and I wouldn't want to be without them, but they can't compare to the barefoot feel of the Genesis. I wanted my Genesis back so I bought another pair. Armed with the knowledge this time of how to adjust the straps, I was able to get them adjusted for my feet in no time. My feet are happy again. I would like the shoes to last for more than a year, but if I need to spend $40-$50 a year on new pairs, I can live with that.

Sandalias minimalistas buenas

You can do anything in these!
I've been trying to minimize the amount of stuff I have, so when I burned through my last pair of all purpose shoes, I looked for something that could REALLY do it all and these are it! My Xero's replaced my running shoes, house loungers, flops, beach sandals, and hiking sandals. They're head turners too, having had plenty of people stop and ask me about them. Recently took them on a week long trip to Hawaii and could not have been more impressed by their comfort and durability. They took up "xero" space in my pack and I even kept them in my pocket for any impromptu hikes. These got me through the Olomana Trail with confidence (look it up) and looked great on the beach too! I'm coming from a world of thick soles, so running in these took a little getting used to (2-3 runs for me). I recommend very short runs at first until you get an idea of how your running form reacts to these. If you're like me, you may need to shorten your stride a bit to avoid calve strain and blisters. The Xero website has a ton of quick videos to get you up to speed on barefoot running though.
