Winco 30 oz Stainless Steel Bar Shaker Cup

We already had an inexpensive Cobbler shaker (the 3-piece type with a lid that has a built-in strainer), but it had formed a tiny stress fracture near the lip and was leaking every time I used it. Unfortunately, every shaker of this type that I could find on Amazon had several reviews mentioning a bad seal. I'm sure many of these were user error, but it's hard to tell which ones. Since I didn't want to take a chance, I decided to try a Boston shaker instead. Added bonus: not having to try to pry that stupid lid off the shaker every time I use it (oh, and the strainer on ours was TERRIBLE, straining 80% into the glass and 20% everywhere BUT the glass). Anyway. I love this one. It's simple and effective, pairing nicely with the pint glasses already in my kitchen. It creates a good seal and the glass separates easily when done. I bought it with an OXO Steel Hawthorne Strainer , and while the spring on the strainer is too small for a tight fit (it's perfect on the pint glass, but too small on the shaker) it still works fine held in place with a finger. No complaints all the way around. If you're trying to decide between a Boston shaker and a Cobbler, definitely get a Boston. And get this one because it works, and it's practically free.

I was a bit skeptical at first, since this cocktail shaker is about the same size as my Libbey cocktail shaker, which was paired with a 20oz glass (huge, might I add). I decided to test it out with an ARC International pub glass (16oz glass, and it is also much smaller than the Libbey shaker glass), and the glass fit right in securely. Made only a couple cocktails so far with it, since Libbey's is my go-to, while I bought this to be my back up. Basically, it does what it needs to do, and your average pub glass will fit in and shake fine. I was worried the glass would break if I shook too hard, but it seems to hold up perfectly fine. Any real pub glass should be fine! Hope everyone else enjoys this as much as I did! Especially at such an affordable price!

The shaker arrived undamaged and unscratched. All of my pint glasses create a great seal and I haven't had any problems getting them off. Other reviewers have commented that the shaker is thin especially near the mouth. BUT it's supposed to be! If it was thick the top wouldn't deform around the pint glass and wouldn't seal tightly. Also, to remove the pint glass you can pinch the top together and the pint glass pops out. It feels like a quality item. Not to mention that it is very inexpensive and is likely the same one you'll see out at the bar. I've washed it in the top rack of the dishwasher with no problem.

I bought this to learn how to use a Boston shaker. Combined with a standard (sturdy!) pint glass, this makes a great cocktail shaker. It worked well for me for a good while, though eventually the metal actually cracked on me. It's somewhat thin, and when I whacked it to release the glass it developed a crack. So, I wouldn't recommend to professional bartenders making many drink a night, but for casual use (or to put kitchen utensils in as storage) it works fine.

I bought this, along with the 15oz. 'pint' metal shaker -- also from Winco -- and I am very pleased with both. The 15 oz. slides into this larger half, and it grips firmly until you tap it apart. I have a more expensive Boston shaker, but the pint glass IS glass, which may be a disaster in the making! This will be a go-to!

I bought this to use with a pint measuring glass I already had. It works perfectly without leaks and is usually easy to get apart (for some reason, the first shake of the night always sticks; no problems after that even though the tin usually has time to warm up between drinks). The steel is thicker than I expected and very durable, and it has a nice shine. I prefer the Boston shaker combination to any cobbler (3-part/novice) shaker because the ice has more room to move around and chills much more effectively. I can fit two drinks in this shaker at once- three is pushing it and sometimes causes leaks, depending on the size of the drink.

I spent years as a bartender and this is the same type of shaker I used when I did my mixing professionally. It is designed to be used with a standard pint glass so there is no top to it. You just pour all your ingredients in the shaker, pop a pint glass in, and shake. I also recommend getting the stainless steel strainer to pour drinks after mixing/chilling. It's easier and less messy than trying to use the pint glass to strain unless you have some mad bartending skills. As this is stainless steel, it should be dishwasher safe, but I prefer to handwash all my bar gear. I would recommend getting a good bottle brush to clean this guy out. All in all, I recommend this product. Works well, cleans up nice, and looks great on my bar cart!

I had large 32 oz plastic glasses I used for smoothies but they got all frosted up after a number of times in the dishwasher. So I started looking for large glasses made out of glass. It turns out they are hard to fine and the ones I did find were priced way too high with crazy shipping charges. Ordered these shakers instead at a fraction of the cost of the glass ones. They are great! I might just order some more.

Great for blending, shaking, mixing... awesome buy. I have 2 and wouldn't rule out ordering a third. I use it every morning for protein shakes with my stick blender... perfect.
