Subtle excellence
Stunned at the quality and amazing value of this beautiful katana, seriously. The nicely polished blade has an easy-to-distinguish Hamon line and is sharpened VERY sharp - mine was, anyways.. Ask me how I found out THAT interesting little detail.."..Hey kids, these things are sharp.."..Cue laugh-track..The blade is 28.5" long, straight and mounted very solid - no wiggle, slop or wobble. Tuning fork kind of tight..Tsuka feels tight and well put together. Samegowa has grit and appears authentic. The Ito wrapping is adequately snug, though I always add a couple of tight wraps of hockey stick tape (with any katana) to be sure it stays that way..The attractive Dragon Tsuba attracts a magnet, as does the tang, out until the last 2.7 inches of the handle (10.8" long). The katana is 39.5" long, and nearly 41" long - including the Saya. The Habaki / Koiguchi fit is plenty snug enough, without being too tight, and there's zero blade slap or rattle within the Saya.Sori curve angle is an optimal 13/16 inch, same as my Siwode. The weight is an optimal 2lb & 9 ounces, with a Wheeler trigger-pull scale.Balance point is about 5.8" from the Tsuba, which is where you can expect a good "No Bohi" blade to be - a little bit tip-heavy.Functionality is quite pleasant, as I move it around with several different presentations. I haven't cut anything yet (except myself), but I will add more to this comment when I do.Packaging is another pleasant surprise, as the katana arrived inside 43.5" cardboard tube. The sword was wrapped in a simple sword bag, and held in place by several pieces of closed-cell Styrofoam. The handsomely decorated tube was shipped inside of another standard, square box that Amazon favors for shipping swords - and I do appreciate Amazon's discretion with that effort.

Came razor sharp, I could probably shave with it. Outstanding sword!
Great sword, looks good, feels good, I didn’t have to sharpen it at all. I gave it the paper test and it cut through like a laser. Outstanding craftsmanship, I’m gonna buy another.

Not worth the money.
I was very hopeful about the sword. when i received it i tried to take it apart to clean it like every other katana i have and it would not come apart from the hilt. It took about 20 mins to get the second the "bamboo" pegs out. it looks nice, but the craftsmanship looks like it was done in your neighbors garage. If you want to spend this much on a katana, look for a more authentic one.

Great sword not the flea market swords
It was Sharp

Not sharp but nice craftsmanship.
The sword was not sharp at all. It couldn't cut a single sheet of paper. Other that that I love the engraving and the handle is very sturdy. The blade is very straight and the shape is spot on. To be honest I don't plan on using the sword for anything other than conversation but it would be nice if the description was accurate. Its kinda embarrassing telling people "look at my super not sharp Katana".

The dragon etching was faded. And I want to know how many times the steel was folded
I love this sword but the dragon etching came faded and I cannot find information on how many times the steel was folded. Any info helps, thank you.
