Maine Woodsman’s Weather Stick

I would think it would have an extra nail hole plus for the money seller could have included a finishing nail or two. Glad to see a return date on this. That will give it enough time.tp see if it works. I do know they do work. The one that broke(hit by a large bird) was almost 30 years old.Well the vote is in and it does work. Glad to have it and hopefully it lasts as long as my first one did.

Had a storm last night and it worked!

My grandparents had one of these when I was growing up and it was fantastic. We bought one at the mall in the late ‘90s for my dad and it didn’t work at all. This one is great, the real deal. Brings me back to my childhood and fascinates my kids.

Came across this completely by accident but I was intrigued so I ordered one. It seemed like one of those things that would either work better than expected or not all. I was skeptical though because I don’t recall ever hearing of such a thing.It arrived yesterday and I attached it to a brick wall at the back of my house. Because I assumed the movement, if there was any, would be minimal, I marked the perpendicular wall with chalk so I had a reference. When I installed it, the tip of the stick was 58 1/4” from the ground and pointing upward.I just remembered to take a look at it and to my surprise it was now pointing at the ground.For all you data junkies, here are the two data points I have at the moment.8/15/20 4:41PM (installed)54% humidity81 degrees F29.97 inHg58.25” to the tip8/16/20 1:18 PM98% humidity (yay 👎🏼)68 F29.92 inHg47” to the tip (-11.25” from install)

I purchased one of these weather forecast sticks for myself. I liked it so much, I bought more for gifts. They arrived promptly.Be aware that some of these sticks are different sizes you may order one that's thick and then the next one you get couldbe thinner. It just depends on the cut of the tree limb. I wonder if one buys three for $18.00 you end up with thinner ones. The first one I bought was a decent thickness. I paid $10 for it. They offer three for 18 which is a pretty good price except I did notice the difference thickness in the wood one was so thin I didn't know if I even wanted to give it as a gift.All in all I think it's a good quality. I get the feeling the company is very good. If you have concerns about your order you can always give them a call.

I have it on my porch where I see it everyday. It is pretty accurate when I check it in the morning. I don’t know how it works, but it does. Great gift for family and friends
