Sony GTK-X1BT 500W All-in-One Wireless Speaker System

Im here to add to the mass 5 star ratings of this speaker. This boombox has been getting a lot of good ratings and quite rightly too, its big size and fantastic sound quality makes it my favourite audio product at the moment.First of all, the looks for the product are good. I admit its not to everyones taste, but I like it. The speaker consists of two larger bass speakers in the centre of the product and then two tweeters on the outside of the bass ones. Its a nice look and gives good sound quality. Theres a small LCD screen on the top left (/right depending on which way you have it standing up), which displays the audio source it's connected to, as well as volume and all of the other options that are built into the speaker. Built into the top of the speaker, you will find a wheel that controls volume and effects, bellow which are the actual buttons for these options. On the front of the speakers, you can see the buttons for pause, play and skip etc. They look nice enough and don't take up too much room. Finally, the LEDs. The LEDs weren't the main reason for me buying this product, but they are a nice feature to have. Despite offering good options for the lights, I feel that they could be a bit brighter and stand out more, but thats just personal preference.Next, audio quality. I have to say that I'm impressed with this speaker when it comes to audio. It provides the user with crisp, clear sound and surprisingly doesn't distort when turned up. As you would expect from such a beast, the bass is its main selling point. As the main music that I listen to is dance/electronic, this speaker is perfect in the lower ends, especially when its turned up and you can actually feel the bass in your chest! Up the higher end of the spectrum, the speaker does well. It isn't as impressive as the bass, but it does a good job and can be tuned to personal preferences using the EQ in the "Song Pall" app that goes with the speaker. All in all, the audio quality is great, and having different presets built into the device for different genres of music works well too.I'm in love with this speaker, its great for pretty much all of the music that I have and it is definitely a head turner! I would recommend this to anyone really, despite its price tag (which people are saying is low, but for me, this is actually quite steep, thanks to being unemployed :') Its great value for money!

This speaker is a good all round device.It's not very compact but finding a place for it was not very difficult. Take note of the dimensions prior to purchase as it is quite bulky.The sound is rich but given the emphasis on the 500W, one would expect a bit more depth. The bass tones are well powerful which is satisfying for a party, but for other types of music the sound feels a bit distorted when played loud. Despite that, overall the quality is good for the cost.The remote controls most functions adequately, but it takes some getting used to, especially if you don't have direct visual access to the information screen.The illuminated speakers are great for that extra effect, especially for the evenings and there are various settings to choose from in terms of the colours and response to sound.I tend to not read the manual and this is fairly straightforward to use without reading, however if you want to get the most out of it, I would advise a quick glance through the functions.Overall I give 5 stars as it is very good value for money but don't expect this to cover your party needs if the room is large or outdoors.

1st unit led lights stopped beating to the music after a couple of weeks, replaced by Amazon. 2nd unit would not beat to music off the TV but would through iPad, sadly that also stopped working after only 1 week. 3rd replacement unit arrived today worked for all of 5 minutes then stopped beating to the sound of the music... This one is also going back ... I've had to pick an alternate manufacture .. clearly they have a design/production fault .. AVIOD! .. shame because the music sounded great both as a speaker and a sound bar to the TV. Wasted hrs on all 3 units, trying to get it working - SONY I EXPECTED BETTER.

An excellent speaker if you don't want to invest a lot into a more complete Hi-Fi system.This was bought as a speaker to use at parties and with phones / tablets.It is very well boxed and arrived quickly and in a great condition. You would be surprised how big the unit / box is! it can be slightly hard to handle and remember to always lift with the back!Setup is very simple - you really just need to plug it in and connect a device. When you connect via Bluetooth it will prompt you to download and app. I have not done this yet I have had no issues. The quality is fairly good for a complete unit and the additional options /. settings can be fairly interesting.The Speakers are rather powerful and can fill medium and small spaces easily. I have not used it out doors.
