BLACKHAWK SERPA Holster Quick Disconnect Female Adapter

New Blackhawk quick disconnects came in today. The design is clever, allowing the user to quickly change holsters/platforms with minimal effort. I can now switch a holster from my drop leg rig, to a belt clip, to a paddle, to a car mount in about 5 seconds. Maybe not quite as elegant as G-Code's RTI system, but very impressive, and especially handy if you're a SERPA fan like I am. The system does add a good 1-2" in thickness to any rig, so it's not optimal for concealing. Note: One improvement would be rotating the release clamps on the female side from the 12/6 positions to the 3/9 positions. The 12 position doesn't present a problem, but the 6 is sometimes covered by the holster itself and someone with fatter fingers than I could have even more trouble tripping the release. Update: Ok, may have found a solution to the 12/6 trip issue. You can trip the 6 o'clock release, put pressure on the holster to rotate, and then trip the 12 o'clock release (with a little more effort). This allows the holster to pop right out. This may have been a design choice since the counter-clockwise rotation to release is natural and allows constant pressure. Regardless, it makes operation much easier and fixes the only real complaint I had.

This genius gadget allows me to use multiple weapons in multiple different configurations. I can go from my thigh rig to my duty belt to a s.t.r.i.k.e cross draw system on my 5.11 tactical vest. When I'm at my desk or driving, I use my BLACKHAWK thigh rig. When i'm standing up at my post I use the device on a CQC belt system already on my duty belt. I bought a BLACKHAWK s.t.r.i.k.e system with the device mounted on it as well for a cross draw configuration. I use all 3 of these systems in one day. And with the BLACKHAWK quick disconnect system, I can transition between them in 3 seconds. I can't imagine what i would do without it!!!

Love that I can mount my gun at any angle on my hip! However, it was a major pain to get the screws into the body of the device and get the little metal bits they screw into to stay in place. I literally spent 45 minutes trying to screw the whole thing together. (3 screws into 3 holes, which were held by 3 tiny metal pieces with tiny teeth which seemed like they were supposed to keep the metal pieces from spinning around when screwing, but didn't.) I used one screwdriver on one side, and another on the other side to apply enough force to keep them from spinning (it worked in the end)

I ordered 2 male and one female in reverse of how the kits are sold. I was not looking to move my firearm around to different platforms but instead different weapons to one platform. I didn't want to ware a hole in my new car seat like my previous car so I wanted to be able to remove and put on my gun quickly. The only drawback is it does stick out a little further than before for concealment. I did have some problems with the screws fitting to my platform but was able to get it to work. I love my Blackhawk holsters for off duty carry. We are no longer authorized to use Blackhawk Serpa even at the range. IMO its all in your training. Good product and it is what I was looking for it to do.

Handy product! Update: I'm changing this to review to 5 stars. I use this product all the time and it makes removing your holster from your hip so much easier. I also bought other FEMALE disconnect mounts and have them mounted on my Molle gear so I don't have to disassemble my holster if I decide to switch over to tactical gear. It's literally a snap to change out!

Works great

After buying the S.T.R.I.K.E. CQB platform, I needed an extra SERPA quick disconnect so I can easily transition my pistol between my drop holster and my utility belt. If you are familiar with the SERPA line, you know it is great and innovative design. It was easy ti set up and it is sturdy enough that i don't feel any backlash when drawing my pistol. Highly recommended.

There are times when I prefer a leg holster, others it's the shoulder, and occasionally I want to use the belt. The ability to switch between these is important in my line of work, but the quick disconnect kit comes with only two females. I need three, and this was the solution. It works as it should, which is very well.

On time delivery. Have the lvl 3 serpa holster with alot of the avaliable accessories. I have atleast three diffrent variations for employing the holster so as a must I need the quick release system. The product is amazing and have haven't had a single issue. As for purchasing the item on amazon it was s a smooth transaction.
