My extremely active 3 year old does great with this curriculum. He sings the songs for it and loves building the letters. He even started tracing the letters, which I could never get him to do. I like this idea better than a letter a week curriculum which takes way too long. I notice he can all of a sudden recognize a ton of letters. Review: Multi-sensory learning - I bought several letter a day books to help my kiddo learn letters. This one has songs and letter building activities. As a teacher, I appreciate the muli-sensory approach to learning the alphabet. This is a great resource!

Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Learning
Overall, a good workbook for preschoolers. More expensive than other letter-tracing books, but worth the price based on being a Sylvan product, paper quality, and perforated pages. Workbook features 1ยฝ inch traceable letters, 1 inch apart - nice size and spacing for beginner writers. However, each letter has only four samples to trace. We purchased Kindergarten writing paper for additional practice. Amazon offers several loose leaf and tablet options. Page Per Day presents UPPERCASE letters first, then lowercase letters. Uppercase letters are typically taught first, as straight lines are easier to recognize and write. Other methodologies teach lowercase letters first, considering 95 percent of text is lowercase. Another approach is combination/or matching - "A" and "a". Either method is supported with easy tear-out pages. *As another reviewer mentioned, a "b" is mistakenly added to the page featuring "d" -- see attached image.

Pre-K Page Per Day Letters
Bought for my learning disabled sister, would recommend it to anyone with a child just starting to learn letters and I like that it was simple enough for children to understand when given direction.

simple and easy to guide new learners through
The activities are appropriate, simple and easy to guide new learners through. The print is clean and professional, which I appreciate. There IS a typo on the Lowercase D page (showing a 'b' instead of a 'd' as other reviewers have mentioned as far back as a year ago. You'd think Sylvan Learning would've corrected this immediately!) My biggest complaint is that it is hard to get the pages out. The perforations are horrendous and multiple pages tore, despite my careful attempts at a clean extraction. I find this very frustrating, as I like to scan the pages before they're used so I have back-ups for further reinforcement learning. While I like the books, I cannot say with confidence that I would purchase these again. I would look for other workbooks first, that (hopefully) tear more cleanly.
