LOL.THE PROBLEM IS THEY ARE BLUEBERRIES AND COST A BUNCH MORE. GOOD RAISINS ARE CHEAPER.THERE IS NOTHING IN THE FLAVOR OF THESE THAT SAYS BLUEBERRY. ALL RAISIN. EVEN THE AFTER TASTE HAS NO BLUEBERRY FLAVOR. MAYBE IN COOKING, BUT I BOUGHT THEM TO SNACK ON.I HAVE BOUGHT DRIED BLUEBERRIES BEFORE AND THEY TASTED LIKE BLUEBERRIES. THESE DO NOT.SOMEONE SAID THEY HAVE A LIGHT CRUNCH TO THEM, NOT REALLY. THAT IS THE SMALL SEEDS. THEY ARE TOO TINY TO BE NOTICED UNTIL THEY GO CRUNCH. IT IS NOT THE BERRY ITSELF.IF YOU LIKE RAISINS, THEY ARE CHEAPER. THE PRICE ON THESE IS GREAT FOR GREAT TASTING RAISINS. SO THERE IS THAT. AND YOU CAN LIKELY USE THEM IN COOKING AND REHYDRATED THEY WILL TASTE LIKE BLUEBERRIES. SO MAYBE I WILL TRY SOAKING SOME IN WATER FIRST.

Great in cookies and bread

I’ve purchased and used several brands of dried blueberries over the years, and my usual go‑to is Herbaila Whole Dried Blueberries. Unfortunately, Herbaila is currently backordered for a couple of weeks. With my grandsons coming for a sleepover—and their strong preference for boom‑pah’s dried blueberries—I needed an overnight option, which led me to Yupik.From a quality standpoint, Yupik does several things right. The berries look appealing and have a good texture—plump and pleasantly chewy. However, the major drawback is the sugar content: 29 grams of total sugar per serving, including 16 grams of added sugar. At that point, eating a comparable serving of Jelly Bellies would involve less sugar.This contrast highlights how well Herbaila performs without added sugar. Herbaila’s sweetness tastes natural, with sweet blueberry as the dominant flavor. With Yupik, the added sugar becomes the primary taste and overwhelms the blueberry itself.What I found particularly telling is that even the kids noticed the difference. They prefer the no‑added‑sugar Herbaila, finding the Yupik “icky sweet” by comparison. That’s not something I expected children to be so decisive about, but it says a lot about flavor balance. They raid the cupboard for the Herbaila blueberries while nibbling on a few Yupik berries and leaving the rest in the bowl.Bottom line: Yupik is an acceptable short‑term substitute when availability is limited, but it’s not a replacement for those who value natural blueberry flavor over sweetness—or who are watching their sugar intake. I eagerly await my next Herbaila shipment and will be more careful to keep it on hand.Meanwhile, I’ll consider the benefits of replacing the Yupik with Jelly Bellies for a lower‑sugar option. If I’m going to devour that much sugar, I might as well have some fun with it. 😉###badphd

These are the best tasting blueberries to use in my blueberry box mix. The berries are dried but while mixing & baking they plump up a bit & have a mild sweet taste, normal berry size, & the quality is just right. I made mine into a 9” x 13” bread type. It came out lightly moist which was very good. I can snack on a slice if I desire. Great price for this product.
