The only solution that works
I used the Type A repair tape to repair a bi-cast leather sofa that had a couple of tears in the seat cushion. So far it has been over two weeks and this tape has performed well with kids who sometimes step or jump on the seat cushion.Previously I had tried leather/vinyl repair kits with the liquid vinyl that you set with heat--those were terrible and never lasted more than a few days, plus they were very annoying to apply. This repair tape is awesome, and simple to apply. The adhesive is very strong, so I am not worried about the tape coming up at the corners or sides. If you visit the manufacturer's website, you will learn that the Type B repair tape is for vinyl only (because vinyl specifically contains oils that require a different adhesive), and the Type A repair tape is for everything else from fabrics to leathers, plastics, polyurethane, etc. Bi-cast leather has a polyurethane coating, so you want the Type A repair tape. The tape itself is clear with a matte finish, so depending on the surface, it is relatively "invisible". The adhesive is so strong that it can be difficult to separate the tape from the wax paper backing without marring the tape. After applying a couple of patches you develop a technique for applying the tape smoothly and neatly.I only regret that I did not buy this tape sooner and save myself the hassle from all of my previous failed repair attempts.

Tape fixed my Old block out backing for our Drapes
Tape worked good and stuck very well and repaired the backing of my deuterating drapes...at least temporarily. Which is what I bought this product for. Until I am able to totally replace them in the fall. My only wish is that I would have bought more as only so many feet where provided in my order. The white tape I bought did not provide a total sun block the way my old drape backing as designed for. But by tripling up on the tape cover (the tape stuck very well to all the layers of tape I applied) I received the sun blackout feature I was looking for, so from the front of the drapes, the tears I repaired did not show sunlight peering through. I wish they made a total sun blackout tape but I have not found it yet. I would definitely buy and recommend this product for what I purchased it for. C Novak...

take your time applying it and it should work great.
It seems like this stuff is working great so far. It's harder to apply than i thought it would be though. You just have to be really careful about stretching it. It's obviously designed to flex but you don't want to stretch it at all while applying it otherwise it pulls the canvas fabric and causes wrinkles. And if you accidentally let it touch itself, there is no getting it apart. The product is great though as long as you take your time applying it. My only complaint is that the patch is 3 inches wide on a 3 1/8" backing. This only leaves the 1/8" of paper on the bottom to peel away from the actual patch. So you cant really cut it up the middle and make 1 1/2" strips. The top half wouldn't have that "head start" and it's too tough to get it off the backing without that 1/8" of help. If i'm repairing a tear that's essentially 0 inches wide (when you pull the fabric together) 3 inches is more than i need. Being kind of expensive, i would like to have gotten more use out of it. But safe is better than sorry i guess.

This stuff is the literal best
I have now bought my weight in these rolls and my only qualm is I wish they’d come in a longer roll. It’s expensive, but worth it. My best recommendation is to only peel a little at a time as you place it, because this stuff is hella sticky and will not let go of the fabric once it’s on. I used it to repair a comforter and it extended its life at least another year+. Technically it’s still working, although the edges were starting to curl a little and get dirty. But that was a daily use sort of thing. I’ve been using the stuff to repair the inside of a fur coat I rescued, too, and it’s brilliant. Although I recommend taping down the first with painters tape to keep it out of the way. Again, it adheres to everything. It’s super strong and flexible. I honestly think it’s as indestructible as the Nokia brick phone 😂 Definitely buy.

Tear Aid has many uses - and getting it by the roll is more cost effective.
I've use the Tear Aid Fabric Repair in countless applications over the years, and buying it by the roll and cutting to the size I need is the the most cost effective method.I have used this for both emergency or permanent canvas or cotton repair - whether it be for my clothing, backpacking and camping equipment. The key to making sure it sticks well to the fabric is how clean the fabric is to start. If it is not possible to clean the fabric first, like in the case of emergency or field repair, at least make sure the fabric is dry. If the fabric is dirty, and you don't have any masking tape, use a sacrificial piece of Tear aid to remove the dirt particles, then another piece to join or repair the fabric.Note this is not the best for cosmetics - if you really care about how it looks when you are done, although this is clear, you are going to see the repair. Plus, if your fingers aren't clean, the sticky side may get polluted and you'll see the fingerprints through the clear tape after installation.Bottom line is this is a great product if the fabric is clean and dry, and if applied correctly, it can last a long time. For less than ideal conditions, a little more care has to be taken and at least make sure the fabric is dry for best results. Thanks for reading.
