Good solid appliance
I replaced my sharp convection microwave with this because I couldn't find another sharp from a reputable company name that I recognized. I would much prefer a new sharp as I had 10 years of great service with it and used the convection a lot. I wouldn't usually make a purchase with the lower rating on this but I'm very aware that convection cooking is still new to a lot of people and it takes a while to get good at it and/or do it sucessfully. This unit looks nice although it does show fingerprints but that's easy to deal with. I hate the door latch because it feels very unstable but who knows, it may last the life of the unit. The glass turntable is nice, my sharp had a metal one I kept covered with parchment paper circles which kept it clean. I've just begun to cook with the convection and I cooked something that took 18 mins in my sharp but had to cooked 9-11 mins longer in this unit. I'm not sure what that's about yet but it disappointed me. I bake cookies and pretty much everything else in the convection so there will be a lot of adjusting times it seems. I'm very savvy with convection cooking and prefer it. It took a lot less baking time in my sharp versus a regular oven. I'm usually comfortable with Cuisinart because my food processor is 10 years old and still going strong. Also my Cuisinart Stand mixer is 5 years old and works great. Both of those appliances have motors built like tanks so I took a chance with this unit. In my sharp you had to place a silicone or other pie plate upside down to pop popcorn so I appreciate not having to do that with this Cuisinart. It pops great just on the glass tray. I do miss the interactive display on the sharp. In convection cooking I have found its just not necessary to preheat at any time and everything previously came out wonderful in my sharp. I just popped it in and turned it on.I'm really uncomfortable about the much longer cooking time for my first few items but I plan to really test this unit for convection cooking with mostly baking. I don't cook meats in the convection because I hate the cleanup but I may try a chicken. Also the microwave is supposed to be 1000 watts. My older sharp was only 900 and heated a bit faster than this unit but it's close enough.I plan on reporting back after I've used the unit more. So far I can only justify 3 stars because the convection took so long to cook but it does cook so I hope I can up the rating when I'm more familiar with the unit.Update:7-23-17After using the convection and microwave constantly for several months I am very pleased. It does take a little more time on both the microwave and convection that what is recommended for foods but it performs very well.I would purchase this appliance again. I feel the complaints about units not working are most likely because something was damaged in shipping. Boxes get tossed a lot in shipping.

This oven is awesome
I bought the Cuisinart CMW-200 because I have had a microwave, convection, grill, combination oven for years. The Daewoo I had for about 15 years stopped working.I loved the fact that I could use one oven for all three purposes. I mostly use the grill and microwave functions. When I received the oven the packaging was in very good shape. The oven was packed in two boxes. The oven looks great. I love that the stainless is not only the front of the unit but also the sides, top, and the inside. This unit looks way better than my old one. It also looks better than the picture online. The clean up inside and out is very easy since its all stainless steel.I have microwaved numerous things since receiving the oven. It works great as a microwave.I have grilled numerous things also. It grills meat very well. Grilling is actually what I use my combo oven for most so I was glad it does it well.I have not used the convection option as of yet.The only complaint I have is the heating element in this one. My old oven had a heating element on the top but it was inside the top of the oven. When I would clean the oven it was just a smooth top as the element was inside. The Cuisinart has the element below the inside top of the oven. This just makes cleaning the top portion of the inside of the oven a little trickier as you have to work around the element. I would still buy this oven again but it is an improvement the company could make.I think this is a great combo oven and I would recommend it to my friends.

Update 9/7/2015 - The clock on this microwave has failed. When I combine that with a door that will not open after the convection oven is hot, the review has changed from 4 stars to 1 star. I do not recommend this microwave regardless of price---------------------------This is my review of the Cuisinart CMW-200 Microwave / Convection Oven. I originally purchased a Samsung Microwave / Convection oven but had numerous problems with 3 replacment ovens, and I decided to simply return the last Samsung oven and purchase the Cuisinart oven. Here is my review...1) Microwave Function: This is completely standard with 10 power levels and a timer. It also includes a turntable which can not be turned off. The start button increases the time by 30 seconds. 5 of 5 stars.2) Convection Function: The highest temperature setting is 425 degrees. The number pad allows different settings of temperature – For example, press the number 1 button for 100 degrees, number 2 for 150 degrees, number 3 for 250 degrees, number 4 for 275 degrees, number 5 for 300 degrees, number 6 for 325 degrees, number 7 for 350 degrees, number 8 for 375 degrees, number 9 for 400 degrees, and number 0 for 325 degrees. What I really like is that once you start cooking, it actually displays the temperature inside the oven. Many microwave/convection ovens do not. The oven comes with a high/low riser grill. Low for most items that you want to cook, and flip it over for high level riser for browning items from the grill (broiler) on top of the oven. This oven has just about the best convection function I have ever used. 5 of 5 stars.3) Combination Cooking: Most ovens of this type can be used to cook with a combination of Microwave and Convection cooking.Personally, I like to have a bit more control over these two functions, and I usually start with the microwave function, then use the convection function. Regardless, this oven does feature combination cooking with several nice variations on this function. 5 of 5 stars.4) Microwave Safe Pan: You'll need to purchase a pan for this microwave as one is not included. I suggest the Microwave Crisper Pan found at the URL below from Amazon. I've used it and it works well for a couple different functions. If you place meat direction on the grill, you can use the pan to catch drippings. Further, it fits well on the riser grill for convection cooking. It also can be placed directly on the glass turntable for microwave cooking.URL: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KIAM2JO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01Since a microwave safe pan is not included with this oven and clearly needed, 0 of 5 stars.5) Manual: I am very impressed with the manual for this oven. Its more like a paperback book than a cheap flimsy manual. It also includes a small cookbook. 5 of 5 stars.6) Microwave look and feel: The outer top and sides are made of brushed stainless steel. All surfaces inside the microwave are made of brushed stainless steel. The keypad functions are clear and work well. The door release latch is troublesome when the oven gets hot; it tends to stay closed unless you use your other hand to 'help' the door open while pressing the door latch button- Not very impressive. Further, the feet of the oven do not grip the counter-top surface very well, and when you press any buttons on the microwave, it does tend to slide around a bit on the counter-top. Overall look and feel rating: 2 of 5 starsEven though number 6 above was low rating, the fact is, the convection feature of this microwave oven is excellent, especially for the price. Further, the electronics seem to be solid with no errors that I have encountered. I recommend this Microwave/Convention oven.

Cooked to perfection.
I purchased this for our community centre at a facility for seniors. It works great and is a big hit with all our seniors and staff members. It does everything we need it to - and then some.

Canadians do not buy the Cuisinart CMW-200
The Cuisinart CMW-200 is one of the few combination microwave convection ovens still on the market. It's a very versatile unit that fits in a small space. You get three appliances in one.The price is not that bad until you realize it's a throw away unit for those purchased in Canada. The Cuisinart CMW-200 is a USA MODEL ONLY. It can not be repaired or serviced in Canada. At least, not by Cuisinart Canada. If you push the door release button too hard, the lever system will break and you will be unable to open the door. You do need to push very firmly for the spring activated door lock to release. I got a year and a half use before I couldn't open the door. The door release mechanism design is so silly, it looks like an intentional design flaw to bring you back for service. If you have a couple heavy handed teenagers around your house the Cuisinart CMW-200 is not for you.

Does the job
Bought this on behalf of an elderly neighbour who has moved into a care home with her own small kitchen area. It looks great and is easy to use. Highly recommended. Oven and Microwave combined which is just what was needed in a small kitchen area.
