uniball™ Jetstream RT Ballpoint Pens, Black Ink, 0.7mm Fine Point, 3 Count

I have been a longtime pen aficionado, but I recently had the chance to write with one of these, and when I'm not using a fountain pen or rollerball, I use these. They write super smoothly, don't smudge, and are reasonably affordable. If you aren't looking to get super serious about pens but would like something other than the standard ballpoint, these are a good option.

This was one of my favorite pens when I was young, but on repurchase, I noticed that it no longer writes well, at least on printer paper, if your hands are sweaty. I'm not sure if this is a quality change that has occurred over a decade, if my sweat composition has changed now that I'm older, if because I have only recently written on printer paper and not notebook paper, or if the way/how long it was stored in the shipping warehouse. I used to love this pen for its relative smoothness, lack of skipping, lack of intensity needed to apply ink to paper, and lack of smearing on both paper and on the hand (making it great for left-handed people), and comfortable grip that lends itself to the whole body -- much of this remains true. However, in addition to difficulty applying ink with oily/sweaty hands, it also appears to skip more than I remember, even on a fresh piece of printer paper, making it difficult to write in very small print due to the skipping and sort of initial force needed to begin ink transfer onto paper. On the other hand, the Pilot Acroball pen has been very good to me, allowing me to write in very small print without skipping and smearing, although long sessions cause my fingers to get sore. I just wish I had found blue and red ink versions for it. I can't comment on the long-session comfort aspect of the Jetstream now, however, because it is too annoying to write small print with it. I currently use the Acroball for writing text and the Jetstream(s) for underlining and annotating a few words in color.

These pens for the price can't be beat. They write very good, dry fast and have a great feel. Jetstream works well. Little bulky ,but that's the only negative

Purchased the black ink ones for my left handed son. I will say for either hand that you use, they are amazing. They are nice and smooth, no smudges worth using left hand. Even the way the ink flows, it doesn’t have any what I call “skips” when a pen can go dead for a second. The grip for your fingers fits perfectly. Was a well worth it price, especially for left handed people.

I did quite a bit of research before buying these and kept seeing them recommended as one of the best pens for healthcare workers. Since my sister-in-law is a nurse, I decided to gift her a pack. She absolutely loves them! According to her, they write smoothly, dry quickly, and are comfortable to use during long shifts when she's constantly taking notes and filling out paperwork. I can't personally speak to daily use since I bought them as a gift, but based on her feedback, these pens definitely lived up to their reputation. A great gift idea for nurses, healthcare workers, or anyone who does a lot of writing.

The uni-bal jetstream fine point pens are the best pens I have used by far. Things I look for in a disposable pen: 1) Fine tip (at least <0.7mm). I have to write a ton of stuff in small forms. I like to write in tiny letters. 2) No smear 3) Long lasting ink cartridge As I was researching for a good pen, all these terms "gel" "ink" "roller ball" "ball-point" were all extremely confusing. I thought gel was gel, and ink was ink. Ink smears and bleeds, and gel is supposed to be more viscous and thick (so it wouldn't smear). But now these companies advertise oddly and say they have non-smearing ink. Then I thought the ball point was synonomous with gel ink pens, and roller balls with ink...but the more I tried looking into it, the more I got confused...so in my review I'll explain it with my own made up words. And the 4 pens I have used recently include: - Pilot (0.38mm) Ultra Fine point black gel ink pen - Pilot (0.5mm) Extra Fine point black gel ink pen - Pilot (0.7mm) Fine point black gel ink pen - Uni-ball Jetstream Fine point roller ball pens Pilot (0.38mm) ultra fine point: -Pros: 1) Finest tip of all the pens. I can write very tiny and fill out forms with more words. However, too small letters can become illegible because there is still a minor amount of smear -Cons: 1) Ink is watery and smears. But dries quicker than other pilot pen's because the tip is so thin that not much ink is spread onto the paper. 2) Pen tip is so thin that it breaks easily. I had half my pen tips break on me. Deal breaker. Pilot (0.5mm) Extra fine tip: Pros: 1) See above (0.38mm). Fine tip, but not as fine as the 0.38mm Cons: 1) Because the tip isn't as fine as the 0.38mm, there is more ink spread, and more smearing. Pilot (0.7mm) Fine tip Pros: None Cons: 1) See above: Ink is too watery and smear-y. Don't even bother with this inky/smeary pen. Uni-Ball Jetstream Fine Point Pros: 1) Ink is more "gel-y", not watery. This is nicer in so many ways. First the gel rarely smears. 2nd the gel lasts much longer in these pens than the pilot pens (less replacement). 2) despite being 0.7mm, I can still end up writing as many words in the same space as the 0.38mm, simply because there is no smear. Cons: None Conclusion: Buy Uniball Jetstream Pens (0.7mm) only.

I love these pens. I love the way they feel. I love the way they write. I love the weight. If everything in life made me as happy as these pens, my life would be perfect.

These are my favourite pens. They are lovely to write with on paper, and also especially good for drawing on fabric, i.e., for drawing around patchwork templates.
