Awesome roller, great quality!
I'm SO glad I bought this on Amazon, because the price makes it well worth it! I had been seeing it at local craft stores for double the price and couldn't justify spending the money on a clear plastic tube. After ordering it here and using it for a few weeks, it has quickly become one of my favorite clay tools. It's surprisingly sturdy and heavy; it doesn't feel cheap at all. The weight allows the user to have good control over the rolling action, and the clear material is really nice when you don't want your view obstructed. I haven't had any problems with clay sticking to the roller, either, which is more than I can say about the ceramic tile I use for my work surface! It's also great for smoothing out minor surface scratches, fingerprints, etc.Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this tool, and am happy I don't have to use cans and cups to roll out my clay anymore. This is a handy, sturdy roller that I reach for daily. Anyone starting out with polymer clay needs at least one in their tool set!

Buy one if you intend to work with polymer clay
Acrylic, glass, and smooth ceramic are the gold standards for working with polymer clay. Contrary to what some Youtube videos suggest, you don't want to use a wooden rolling pin when working with clay. Polymer clay is non-toxic, but tools that are used with clay should only be used with polymer clay. Wood also leaches out some of the oils in clay and will lead to less than desirable results. This was the cheapest, best acrylic rod I could find and it is easy to work with. Buy one for yourself!

Good Tool
This is a nifty tool for polymer clay, I was just surprised that, as simple as it is, it took a little bit for me to get used to using. Working on a piece of glossy card stock helps keep the clay flat while you roll (I started off using a regular sheet of notebook paper and would not recommend that!) and sometimes I toss a bit of corn starch on the clay to keep the roller from sticking. It's like a rolling pin with dough, except the clay is not as pliable. That being said, it's hard to get around NOT having this one because there are some clay pieces that just can't have fingerprint indentations from manually flattening it out.

Glad to finally have one
I've always just scrounged around the house for something to use whenever I need to roll out polymer clay, but the price was very reasonable and I sprang for it. Very glad to finally something I know I can use on my clay, that won't leave indents on the clay (like pencils), or leave clay where it doesn't belong (like the kitchen rolling pin). It's very smooth, feels solid and heavy. Good quality!

No scratches or cracks, did not react with polymer clay
No problems with shipping, I received message it was in my mailbox and sure enough, it was there ( instead of it actually appearing in my mailbox after a few days). Read reviews and had concerns that my roller would arrive with cracks and scratches as some did, but it arrived in perfect condition. Spent several hours rolling different colors of polymer clay and the acrylic has not reacted with them, my roller is still crystal clear.

I definitely needed this
I had been using a plastic tube to roll out my clay after it was conditioned and I didn't understand what all the fuss was about for getting a real clay roller, but boy do I understand now. The weight of this makes a huge difference when rolling out the clay. If you have clay that is hard to condition, you can use this to get it going. Also, when you are reducing canes, if you want to go really slowly, you can use this with hardly any pressure because of its weight. This is a must-have for polymer clay artists.

works for play dough too!
I bought one of these rollers for my clay projects. It works nice, it is a very simple product. I bought another one for a friend to give to her granddaughter. The regular rolling pin was too big for the toddler to use while playing with her play dough. I thought this would be perfect for a little one to use with her play dough. Perfect for her little hands.
