Napoleon Complex
For such a little guy, it packs a punch. The pictures online dont do this baby beast justice, its small, and thats a good thing! If youre looking for a portable AM/FM, CD, USB stick and Bluetooth compatible "boombox", look no further. This is an all arounder, it does what you'd want a good portable radio for around $100 to do.Connected fast and easy to my iPhone, iPad and tried it out on my Mac, and even Apple TV, bluetooth connection is a breeze and works flawless. If youre listening to music on the radio, cd, YouTube or anything else on your phone or tablet, the audio carried to this radio sounds incredible, again, especially at such a small size.If youre listening to music of any kind, just hit the mega bass button on the front of the radio, if youre listening to more podcasts and talk, turn the mega bass off, its a good sounding experience all around. One thing I havent heard anyone mention about this radio that some may appreciate knowing is that on the front, in the middle, on the very bottom you'll notice a small opening across the center of the radio, from speaker to speaker, this is a small bass air port, and in some cases you can feel the air kicking out, its a sweet little unit.I just want to reiterate the size of this thing is, to me, its selling point. Use it at the dining room table, on the patio, in the yard, at the cookout, wherever, its small and lightweight and the battery time is a little better than advertised. I definitely get over 15 hours of bluetooth playback on C size energizer batteries with volume between 15-20, max volume is 30.This little guy is batting well above his weight limit, buy it if portability matters most.

Decent Unit with good features but lacks remote
Originally I wanted a 5 CD shelf unit but the Sharp one I ordered arrived damaged so I sent it back as it had some minor annoyances and I had long term quality concerns. So I decided to try this unit since 1/2 the cost and had the unique feature of recording CDs to a flash drive so could have the similar benefit of a 5 CD player. Unit is for my dad with dementia and wanted something that could use all the music CDs he has, was easy for caregivers to use and not super expensive. I've been recording the CDs to a USB flash drive and it's really easy to do as well as fast -- kinda weird that you don't hear the music while recording but it's kinda like a computer just copying the files over. You can plug the flash drive into your computer and play from there so that's kinda cool too. The navigation on the unit for the music/cds on the flash drive is not user friendly (pushing buttons and somewhat cryptic screen clues) and it would have been better had there been a remote to make it easier. However playing the flash drive is easy so good enough for my purpose. CD player works well as does the radio. The sound is not fabulous but good enough -- does help to have the Bass boost turned on for more depth and less tinny -- if you are expecting a high end sound this is not it -- but if you want some good background music then this should be satisfactory. I'm still figuring out some stuff but overall I am happy. I will buy the Square Trade extended warranty as like all the consumer electronics I've seen, the long term quality is questionable as everything seems to be built with "planned obsolescents".

Super pricey but fits me perfectly
I use it as a bedside music maker. I fall asleep to classical or Nora Jones or equivalent, so I dont need the thunder and lightening. The low volume sound quality is superb. This wont get super loud, but good enough for me and my small Honolulu flat. One small complaint is the display lighting is dim and shuts off after only 5 seconds.Otherwise, it was easy to format my thumb drive to fat32, add albums from my PC, and play them without a hassle. CD records to the thumbdrive with just a push of a button, which is heaven-sent, but I WISH it would record from FM to thumbdrive but NO WAY JOSE. Apparently, these have been discontinued thus, my purchase was from back-stock with a jacked up price. ALSO, after in depth homework on this unit, many reviewers said the CD stops working at about one year. So I bought the 33 dollar 3 year extended warrantee. I researched the warranty company and they have a good record, so Im set for at least three years. My total price was 233.00.... If this does give out, I'll get the Sharp High Definition mini Hi-Fi with bluetooth at just 100.00, which also has a USB in.

Very capable portable boombox
I bought this for a friend. I ran it through my tests. For the money, I'm impressed. It would take a big write up to describe all the details so I'll abbreviate. Bottom line, if you want a very versatile, very portable boombox with a lot of easy to use features, BUY IT. Functions are intuitive. Bluetooth syncs effortlessly. The record from CD to USB feature is easy, although it takes about 1/2 hour to record a 1 hour music CD (not a complaint). Since CD to USB is done via MP3 conversion, a 2GB USB stick will hold about 20 one hour CDs. Each CD recording shows up as an "Album" and you can select each album file in USB mode. For the 50+ generation that still has a pile of CDs, this is a very cool feature. It read all my recordable CDs no problem. FM reception is average but decent. Portability excellent. Sound quality is adequate considering it's a very tiny unit (meaning don't expect premium stereo sound; expect good quality). Headphone sound quality with my studio headphones was excellent and that output could feed an amplifier with big speakers (std 1/8" stereo jack). There is also a 2nd 1/8" jack for input from a non-Bluetooth cell phone, etc. Regarding other reviews, yes the front panel LCD is hard to read (probably the only flaw) and no, I didn't have any problem with a loose 110VAC power cord (supplied). Overall, a great little boombox.
