I bought this barrier ointment for my grandpa when he was starting to develop a small pressure area on his bottom, and it worked really well for us. With regular skin care and pressure relief, the area improved quickly, and this ointment did a great job providing a protective barrier. The paste is VERY thick, so just know that going in! You may want to use gloves when applying it because it takes a little extra washing to get it completely off your hands. You also do not need much at all. A little goes a long way. One of those common nurse sayings is, “thin is in,” and that definitely applies here. A thin layer is plenty. There is no need to pile the product on. Overall, I was really impressed with the consistency, coverage, and how long the product lasted. I would purchase it again for protecting skin from moisture and irritation.

Very good this cream. I help with chafing of the skin, and within minutes you feel an improvement in irritated skin. I would definitely ask for it again.

This cream works well on most irritated skin. Those wearing diapers and skin lesions etc. No horrible smell and smoothing.

Awesome for people with HS! This helps my skin stay moisturized without the fear of sores in those areas that normally are the worst. Better than powder! Such a great price and will last a long time because you don’t have to use a lot!

Review Calibration: A 3-star review means the product met all expectations, the advertising statements, and the stated specifications. To get additional stars means the product performed better than similar products I have tried, exceeded expectations, was easier to use, exceeded the specifications, etc. To get fewer stars is obvious. This product is very thick and viscous, almost like a paste. To spread it easily, it needs to sit on the skin for a couple of minutes to heat up. This stuff works well when there are sores on the legs and protection during healing is needed. My Mom uses it under her compression hose and leg wraps. This is not her favorite cream because of the spreading issue, but if she ever gets a sore or the legs get tender, this is what she grabs.

This has really helped heal a patch of eczema that I struggled with during the hot summer months. I tried a lot of different creams, ointments plus hydrocolloidal patches, to keep broken irritated skin covered and to prevent itch, and nothing was really helping until I stumbled on a suggestion to try this. It does leave a white cast, so be prepared if the skin is not hidden under clothing. Does a great job keeping the skin from itching. Helped with a few insect bites too - used overnight and they were almost gone in two days - and they were really red, raised and itchy! Very affordable and Medline Remedy makes some really good products.

We have been using this product consistently since our son was in the NICU. It is useful for not only preventing but treating diaper rash. It should be kept cool at room temperature and avoid extremes In heat because under these conditions the product separates the oil from the cream and it becomes messy to use. Other than this, the product is a 10/10.

I use this on my amputated leg and it helps the liner from pulling on my skin. Far cheaper than some of the alternatives I've tried.

I got this cream before it’s really good for diaper rash but this time they sent the wrong cream but it’s really good for severe diaper rash

Baby has chronic diaper rash. We use Ihles paste at home and had trouble finding a squeezable tube for the diaper bag. This one works best! Squeeze a line down the down, don't even need to use your fingers, spread with the diaper and close it up. We've tried 6 other brands (like aquaphor and desitin) and even putting the Ihles paste into a reusable tube (this was a very impossible task) and nothing else worked as well.

This cream is the best for eczema and skin break

Excellent for very dry, cracked skin. Best used at the end of the day after work as it leaves a thick greasy film. Give it a few hours to work undisturbed.

A thinner Zinc based cream not as thick so I like it better for applying as a barrier cream on pressure wound on sacrum
