I had been pricing these at Home Depot and this one was substantially cheaper for the exact same model, especially with the included power cord. That alone made it an easy decision.Installation was straightforward and everything arrived packaged extremely well with no dents, damage, or missing parts. The unit feels solid and well made, and it runs much quieter than the older disposal it replaced. Plenty of power for normal kitchen use and it handles food waste without any issues.Very happy with the value on this one. Great price, trusted brand, fast shipping, and much better overall deal than buying locally.

I am a new homeowner and the thought of replacing my own garbage disposal had me convinced I was going to flood my kitchen. I almost just paid someone to do it. Glad I didn’t. It took less than 45 minutes and was very straightforward.Watch one YouTube video first. That is all you need. Grab a flashlight and just take your time under the sink.**If you have a dishwasher, read this before you start.**There is a plastic knockout plug inside the side inlet that you have to punch out before connecting your dishwasher line. You do it by literally hammering a piece of plastic inside a brand new disposal, which feels like you are breaking it. It is supposed to happen, but do this before you mount the unit. If you do it beforehand, you can just turn the unit upside down and the plastic disc falls right out. If you wait until it is already hooked up to your plumbing, you will have to fish that little disc out from inside the unit. Learn from my mistake. Do it on the workbench first.**On septic systems.**I specifically chose this model because we are on a septic system. High horsepower disposals grind food into a fine slurry that can clog a drain field over time. The 1/2 HP Badger 5 is a better fit. The goal on septic is to use it as little as possible anyway. It is there to catch the occasional scrap that makes it into the drain, not for everyday food waste.Noise: Quieter than my old unit but not a whisper quiet disposal. Running empty it hovers around 72 to 73 dB and spikes to 75 to 76 when actually grinding something.Check my video for the actual meter readings in real time.For context, disposals are generally in the 70-95dB range so this lands right at the lower end of that. Noticeable but not disruptive.Size: Very compact. Frees up realcabinet space under the sink compared to bulkier models. Check my photos showing it mounted with a tape measure for actual clearance.Value: Cheaper here than at the hardware store and the power cord comes pre-installed which saved me extra time and money.Install: Straightforward swap if you take your time. The Lift and Latch mounting system is simple and you can do it solo.Solid unit. If I can do it, you can too.You’ve got this.

It's the kind of installation that intimidates novices like me, but it was honestly over before before I knew it. The only difficult part was finding the snap ring, if you're not used to them. Getting it off the old one was easy, but to get the new one on I had to use a little bolt to hold the ends apart while I got it in place.I'm knocking off a star for the dishwasher connection plug. To use this feature, you have to stick a screwdriver or something in a tube and hammer out a plastic plug, then fish out the plug. I couldn't couldn't find it to fish it out so i figured it had fallen out, but when I finally turned it on, it was in there. It was incredibly difficult to get out until I pulled out a random industrial endoscope I bought last year on impulse and found it stick to the side.Like... really? you couldn't just have a screw-on cap with a gasket? You couldn't think of ANY solution that didn't require fishing a little plastic disc out of the disposal innards? This should have been a 30-second step but instead it took up fully half my installation time.The other annoyance, confirming the lost star, is not including plumber's putty. For a few cents they could include a little packet of plumber's putty. Instead I had to take a separate trip to a hardware store and buy enough putty to install at least 50 of these even though it's unlikely I'll ever use it again. I'm sure they used to include it and dropped it as a cost-cutting measure, and I think that was a bad call.Apart from that, it was an easy and seamless process.

This was a good buy to replace my old one that lasted 15 years. It was easy to install and is a bit quieter than my old one. I was surprised that it's more compact and saves me a little more space as my sink cabinet is very small.

Because we were replacing an older model of the Badger 5, the process was amazingly simple. The new one is working great!

We purchased this InSinkErator Badger 5 to replace a Badger 1. It was extremely easy to install, took less than fifteen minutes to uninstall old Badger 1 and put in the new Badger 5. Direct hookup, no parts to replace. The old disposal was a 1/3rd H.P. Vs the new disposal is a 1/2 HP. These disposals have direct plug in so no wiring to deal with. Not sure why the old one stopped working, but hey, it was over five years old. I personally feel that InSinkEreator disposals are the best.

Product is horrible and couldn’t get in touch with th seller

this seems to be american with american plugs and so on. i have had 2 electricians to look at it and they won't fit it becauase it works on 110 volts not 240 here in england. If it is fitted the current here will make it blow. so unfortunately i am sending it back.

Took a little while to get here but so worth it given the price! Best deal I’ve found so far, about half the the price from this seller! It’s installed and works like a charm, this thing is a beast! Highly recommend!

Si libera gratamente de los desperdicios orgánicos no deseados porque algunos son de buen uso pero hay otros que realmente no. Funciona muy bien y es muy práctico siguiendo las instrucciones de operación en el orden correcto. El ruido no es incómodo y tiene muy buena potencia para triturar. Yo solicité la instalación a un plomero y realmente me dejó satisfecho. Lo instaló en 2 1/2 hrs con todo y botón de aire y contacto bajo la tarja.
