After receiving a medical diagnosis before the holidays, Heather Krueger discovers she is in urgent need of a life-saving liver transplant. Facing incredible odds against finding a donor, she's shocked when a stranger, Chris Dempsey, volunteers to donate half his liver to her. As Heather and Chris get to know one another and their families before and after the transplant, they form a deep connection and begin to wonder if the closeness they feel goes beyond the special connection between organ donor and recipient. The two must decide if Chris's selfless act is the beginning of a beautiful, true love story. Review: There’s still kindness and selflessness in this world. - This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies. I like that it was based on a true story. The second thing that I like, is the cast. The two actors chosen for the lead roles did exceptional acting jobs. In my opnion, Aimee Teegarden and Brett Dalton are fine actors. They say “the eyes are the windows to the soul”. And both of them acted exceptionally, with their eyes. Aimee Teegarden expressed through her eyes, someone who was totally grateful and humbled, by the gift of life she had been given. Brett Dalton expressed through his eyes, someone who is kind and selfless, totally willing to give a part of himself, to help a total stranger in need. This movie is definitely a feel-good movie. Review: very enjoyable - good movie

A True Example Of What Christmas Was Meant To Be. Giving of one's self for the benefit of others.
Heather is a young woman in her early twenties who comes from a family near Chicago who loves Christmas, and her family has 5 Christmas Traditions. As the season approaches, Heather starts not feeling well and stays tired. Her Mother goes with her to see a doctor, and receives bad news, Without a kidney transplant, Heather isn't expected to live, and to get on the list and receive a kidney before her time is done, is a long shot. The family (The Krugers) do all they can to advertise about the plight of their daughter and sister, but things don't look Good. Enter Chris. Chris is a nice young man who just went to work for Heather's Uncle's tree farm. Chris wants to do something meaningful in life, and without telling the whole story, He gets tested to see if he is a match, which he is, and meets Heather to tell her he wants to give her one of his Kidneys. Heather is over whelmed and has a hard time understanding why a perfect stranger is willing to give her a kidney, but of course she accepts. During this whole process, they fall in love and the story has many places where happiness abounds. Chris has the true spirit of Christmas giving. There are many many great stories out there about Christmas, but to me this is the best. I'm not a cryer, but I dare you to watch this whole story and not cry a bit. Now you ask me why this is the best ? Because it is a true story, told with a high detail of accuracy. In the end they even show us a picture of the real Heather and Chris. And Yes they did fall truly in love and are now Husband and Wife.

most inspiring
i like the theme so much, but the actor who played Cris was the wrong fit for the roll, while he might be a good actor, he wasn't believeable in this roll, i did enjoy the actress who played Heather, while i know the movie has to be fast paced, more time should have been spent showing how ill she really would have been in real life, this actress has the talent and should had been allowed to show more of how desperate a situation it really was,, stage 4 is a short lived death sentence without a transplant,, the whole theme of giving without gain is delightful, and falling in love on top of it is a hallmark moment for sure, very good movie and very inspiring, makes a great Christmas movie,,

Beautiful storyline
Aimee Teagarden plays Heather, a student that recently found out that she has liver disease and needs a transplant very quickly in order to survive. She struggles to find a match, until a stranger shows up stating that he is a match and is willing to go through with the transplant. As Heather and Chris, the male donor, go through the preparation for the surgery, they start to grow closer. This was an amazing storyline, largely due to the fact that this is based on the true story of Heather Krueger and Chris Dempsey. I did see an interview of these two people and the movie did seem to follow closely along to the true story. Krueger and Dempsey also made a cameo in one of the last scenes of the movie. A very touching, beautiful story made even more so by the truth behind it.

Beautiful story line, but unrealistically portrayed
I loved the fact that this story was based on real life events! And in true Hallmark fashion, even though the main character, Heather, had stage 4 liver failure and needed a transplant , she never looked or acted like she was sick. Except at the very beginning when she decided to see a doctor, she never acted like she didn’t feel well. She was crafting, shopping, making cookies, decorating , dining out right up until the day of transplant surgery. And her rapid recovery from such a serious surgery was nothing short of a miracle.....which is maybe why they gave it the title A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE !!! I Know it’s a Hallmark movie where everything is ultimately feel good stuff, but for me, the portrayal was SO UNREALISTIC, it detracted from it being believable. I kept thinking,” oh yeah, right, she’s be- boppin’ around the room a few days after a liver transplant without even a hint of being in recovery mode. Either not so good acting, or not so good directing. Otherwise the story line was a beautiful one.
