Norton Anthology of Western Music: Ancient to Baroque: 1

Since I lecture on musical phenomenons and history of music the NRAWM is an ideal source.

This is clearly an exceptional resource and a great anthology to have, particularly alongside A History of Western Music which references examples throughout from this anthology. Only criticism is that the paper is very thin, making the book very fragile and the pages are susceptible to tearing very easily.

It arrived on time, in mint condition! Nothing bad to be said.

A cada edição dessa antologia o conteúdo fica melhor, além das pequenas alterações (substituições e acréscimos) no repertório. Dos três volumes da série, esse foi o que mais sofreu alterações, e para melhor.

Come il manuale di storia della musica, Norton History of Music, l'Anthology è perfetta. I commenti sono chiari, persino molto più estesi dell'edizione precedente. La storia della musica si studia così, tutto è collegato. Sarebbe utilissima una traduzione in italiano. Per insegnare a studiare la storia della musica. E per insegnare come si scrive una storia della musica, come la si spiega, come la si illustra e come potere analizzare le musiche che si stanno studiando. E per insegnare a come insegnarla.Tutto perfetto come al solito con Amazon: l'antologia è arrivata velocemente nei tempi previsti.

A teacher used to show us segments of this book in our music history classes, it is very complete. I love it!

This is a great collection of musical scores, with a brief comment for each example. Spiral bound allows a practical use of this huge book.
