Reading Ted's book is like a walk through my own life with all of its questions as a young man and as an older man. I felt as though I was sitting on the screened-in back porch and just having a conversation with Ted Estess as I read this remarkable book. Thank you Ted for sharing your stories in a joyful and insightful manner. You touched my heart and my soul over and over in "Fishing Spirit Lake". Thank you for writing this book.

Perhaps other readers might do as I did - ration themselves by reading no more than one chapter a day - so they can remain in touch with Estess' writing as long as possible.

Fishing Spirit Lake is a profoundly intimate view of the family life of this wise and literate author. It is touching, funny, and thought provoking.

I am Ted Estess's biggest fan, for his writing. I have lived it, and with it, for twenty two years, since its inception in a cabin on a small lake in the Rockies of Colorado in 1992. Everything in it is "true" or has "truth." I believe that the book deserves to be picked up by a big trade press, and/or to be made into a movie. I know Ted Estess intimately, and all of his work. I have known him for 52 years. I know the good and the bad, the uplifting and the ugly. I have liked Ted's other books, but this one is totally special. It rivals any and all non-fiction writers I know. I love this book! I am a relative of Ted's: Sybil Pittman Estess, Ted's spouse (of 48 years).

It's a luxury to be in the hands of a real pro who has a lot to say and all the skill and talent to say it exquisitely. Reading Ted Estess is one of life's deepest pleasures.
