HDMI to DVI Cable, Bi-Directional Adapter, 4K DVI to HDMI Converter (1 Pack)

I bought this adapter to connect an Apple Cinema Display HD (circa mid-2000's) to a Windows PC with HDMI out. It works. I do notice some strangeness in the Apple display though, spots where pixels are turning on and off rapidly, it looks like a shimmer. I'm not sure if that is caused by this adapter, the output from the PC, or the age of the display (it may be 15 years old if not more). Anyway, good enough for me.

This adapter does not give me dual link display resolution. I plugged it into an hdmi port on my 2019 mac mini and got only 1280x800 resolution from My dvi-D monitor (HP :P3065) which gives me 2560 x 1440 through the same HDMI connection. In other words it using this to adapt a dvi-D dual link connection only gives me a single link connection. I tested the same monitor through a CLUB dvi-D to type C adapter and it gives me the full resolution of the monitor. If you only need single link, it looks to be quite nice from what I saw of it when plugged in, but only gives the lower resolution. I am looking for an HDMI to dual link connector with a wire, not a single piece unit.

I have an older monitor that has a DVI port but no HDMI. I use this to connect it to a newer computer that has an HDMI port. No problems with video quality or or connectivity. This allows me to use an older monitor without having to replace it with a newer piece of equipment. Definitely worth the cost.

I have a monitor that only has a DVI cable connection. For anyone in my situation, I can happily say that this adapter will connect a DVI monitor to an HDMI output. It works like a charm!

I have an older monitor that is still in excellent condition that supports DVI and SVGA connectors. When I got a new laptop with port replicator, the replicator only supported newer HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs. While one of my monitors supported HDMI, this other monitor only had DVI. Using this adapter, I was able to connect my DVI monitor to the DisplayPort connection on the port replicator and now happily have a dual-monitor setup again. It was cheap, easy to use, and did exactly what it purported to do. I did not test this with high-density video output such as you'd see for a large TV or entertainment system. For my setup, connecting my laptop to 2 monitors, it worked great and supported the maximum resolution of my old monitor perfectly with no issues.

Keeps me from getting a new external monitor When all i need is a bigger real-estate to watch my screen.
