Bestar Queen Murphy Bed, 65-inch Space-Saving Wall Bed for Guest Room, Home Office, Home Gym

The decision to BUILD a murphy/wall bed vs BUY one was a difficult one for me. Building my own would save hundreds of dollars and allow for greater customization. Plus I had heard horror stories about parts not arriving or not fitting when buying a pre-built model, so I had been leaning towards building ... until I learned that the local home improvement store could not guarantee their cuts would be accurate and I realized how much time and effort building it would require, not to mention the hassle of having to borrow some tools I don't own (table saw, etc), so I decided to buy one online.This model happened to be the same one sold on numerous other sites AND was slightly less expensive AND obviously Amazon's a trustworthy merchant so I gave it a go ... and it was a SUCCESS!!** Simply put, this bed turned out better than I expected.**I built much of it by myself, though it went much smoother when I had help and I would definitely recommend having a second person so you don't break the boards. Took about 4 hours but with two competent people it could probably be done in closer to 3 hours. Just don't rush it - this isn't made of real wood so if you screw up, you risk ruining a piece. Still dozens of hours less than building my own from scratch between the research, cutting, and actual building.I was worried about it being damaged upon arrival and though there WAS some forklift damage, it wasn't to anything vital and I managed to receive a replacement part within days. A+Speaking of which, this bed arrived SUPER FAST! The delivery window was roughly 3-5 weeks and it arrived in less than 2 weeks which actually caught me by surprise. I had no idea it was coming (no delivery update was provided) which was NOT GOOD, as I couldn't arrange help on such short notice to carry it inside, and YOU WILL NEED HELP bringing it in. It arrives in 3 giant extremely heavy boxes on a pallet, and it's on you to bring it in, so be prepared.Overall, the unit is more sturdy than I expected. It looks nice too, and is well worth the cost ($1200-ish). Euro-slats make it comfortable without a box spring, and provides an extra layer of protection between the top of the bed and the front-facing door in case you have kids like mine who like to jump up and down on every bed they lay their eyes upon.However, I do have some gripes. As seen in one of the photos, handling the materials damages them easily, so be careful. Also, my queen sized bed (hybrid springs/foam) does not stay against the door, so I had to buy straps and rig them up to hold the bed against the door when it's going up and down. This, in my opinion, should come with the bed automatically, and it's super annoying that it doesn't. BESTAR - FIX THIS! The front handles should use larger screws and some washers most likely - I can see that being one of the first things to break down the line. Also, despite the mattress being plenty heavy, I can imagine others' beds may not be heavy enough to hold the bed down against the floor when 'deployed'. It's not a bad thing that the struts work so well, but just be ready to make your own fix just in case. I had expected the legs of the frame to help hold the mattress down against the doors but my mattress slides down just far enough to make the legs useless in that regard. BESTAR - FIX THIS! Move the legs down another inch or two to accommodate the sliding on future models please.** Overall, a solid purchase for what I paid, and I'd definitely purchase it again. Bestar did a great job with the delivery speed and replacement parts too. But there is some room for improvement which would cost Bestar very little (from delivery communication to accessories to design changes) and as a result, the customer may need to plan ahead to tackle common issues and buy extra accessories to compensate. **

It took me two days to assemble but I did it by myself. I am a woman. It wasn’t difficult if you can use your brain. The parts are heavy. I needed a man to move the large parts. I love this bed. It works great and looks great! Compared to others, this is an excellent price and not made in China! Made in Canada.

As others have mentioned, the instructions aren’t great. On top of that, several of the screws were low quality and ended up stripping or breaking off. A few dollars at Ace to get some nicer screws and it went much smoother. It was a pain to build, which we were prepared for from reading other reviews, but once built it is sturdy and looks great! For the price it was worth it. I just wouldn’t ever want to build it again haha.

It is a project to assemble. The bed comes in a 8'x4'pallet and each box is quite heavy.My delivery driver pretty much just dropped the whole pallet in my driveway and when I ask if I could at least have it move in my garage, he pretty much told me no because of covid and left. If you live in anything else than a one floor house, look elsewhere.

This was well worth the buy

Product was damaged we did not accept delivery.

Bought this to hold 12 inch mattress. Mine is a pillowed top. Wouldn’t totally close. Had to make adjustments to the back shelf. Now closes properly.

Definitely need mechanical people to assemble
