Perfect Winter Spritz
Winter Spritz is THE Xmas drink. Think Aperol Spritz, but sub this for the Aperol, and sub Fever Tree's Blood Orange Soda for the regual soda water. Same proportions (3 fizz, 2 Aperitivo, 1 blood orange soda)

Venetian Bird... is that a thing? It should be.
Closer to Campari than Aperol, but like all the flavour of Campari without the aggressive bitterness. So you can taste all those flavours. But it is still bitter. Aperol is sweet by comparison. Cloves dominate on the nose and the tip of the tongue, but beyond that are a host of flavours and spices. It's a great cocktail ingredient. As well as a spritz It'll work brilliantly in negronis, highballs or even Tiki drinks - think Jungle Bird with this instead of Campari - oh yes!

A good alternative if aperol is too sweet
Bought after I had it in Italy in place of aperol in a little bar I came across, then strangely enough in a cocktail bar in Edinburgh later that year.

Great summer sprite
The original Venetian sprite, before Campari and aperol. Based on rhubarb, has a fantastic colour and not as sweet as aperol. Worth a try

Sophistication.
If you are still drinking Aperol or Campari, let me help you be a little less ‘yesterday’. While Select may originate in the 1920’s, its sophistication matured in Italy for over 100 years to arrive on our shores in the 2020’s. I reminisce my days in Tuscany at L’Eroica, and recall my days around Turin to Naples, Rome to Venice, whilst gently sipping my glass of Select Spritz. 2 parts Select, 3 parts Prosecco, 1 part soda water. A thoughtful blend of 30 botanicals made social with a touch of fizz. A wise choice always taste better. Buy a bottle and enjoy being you just that little bit more.

Step up your spritz game!
We discovered The Aperol Spritz many years ago on a trip to Lake Garda, but this is a Venetian take on that theme. Richer and closer to Campari than Aperol, and a gorgeous red, which comes over in your Spritz. To really finish it off, try Fever Tree's Blood Orange Soda as the splash of soda. It also goes very well in an Americano, where it stands in for Campari extremely well, and again the rich red adds a visual improvement too. But try it as Italians intend it, it's an ingredient in a cocktail, not a sip it neat number. There are lots of Italian Amaro's for after dinner, this is a Aperitivo. And a very very nice one too :-)

Aperol alternative
Makes a nice change from Aperol.

Venetian spritz
Not strong as the most famous red bitter but perfect for a real Venetian spritz
