On-Stage Microphone Stand, Black (MSA7040B)

I really like this boom. When it arrived, I was impressed by the weight, look and feel, but of course the real test would be at a live gig in a real-world situation. Well, it stood up to the test just fine!This is a 16" boom. Look at 16" on a measuring tape, and you'll realize just how short that is. And yet, when I first unpacked it, I was a bit concerned at just how short it really was. But it actually worked out great. It's ideal for miking an instrument, like an acoustic guitar, or even for vocals - but beware, you will be better off with a stand that has a circular (rather than tripod) base.Good quality, good price, function as intended. What more could you ask for? Five stars!

This is a pretty solid and useful product. I mounted it on a floor mic stand and it works fine.

It does exactly what it is supposed to do, and holds up to constant travel and use. Our band has used it almost daily for over two years as of this writing, and it has never let us down.Plus, the short boom makes it a lot safer when playing at dances: the long boom would often get run into by drunken mother-of-the-brides doing the Chicken Dance, which would send the microphone on the other end careening willy0nilly into the mouth of the singer. Dental bills were huge!

This is a nice boom arm. It is a shorter arm which isn't for everyone. If you place your stand directly in front of you, then this is ideal. As one reviewer noted, it can be safer depending on your venue and the size of the stage. If you place your stand off to your side, then a longer boom is required.
