I have a sandy bottom so I suctioned it to a baseball card holder and stuck that under and it worked great. I was hoping the color changing light had a setting to change it to a stationary color but it changes colors every few seconds and is pretty sweet looking either way.Some of the reviews I read were complaining about the light not being bright enough but I think it’s just fine. If you want it brighter then build the base up under it so it’s closer to the top of the volcano and your good. I was going to do that but I tested it first and thought it looks great so no need to.

I like it, it works great lots of bubbles, however the light doesn't go as far as advertised. It's still cool and I'm keeping it.

This small, but heavy volcano ornament is an attractive addition in and of itself - even without the light and bubbler. But finally I got to hooking it all up today and wow! What a pleasant surprise! Most aquarium hobbyists have old extra air pumps and extra tubing. But if you don’t, you’ll need a pump. And it can’t hurt to replace the tubing that came with the ornament with some higher quality tubing. But I’m pleased beyond belief and I’m not complaining at all.

Make sure you read first before you buy. Does not come with air pump so have to buy separately. Lights aren't very bright either. But okay for the price.

When I first placed this in my daughters tank, I thought it was awesome and looked very cool, however, the light feature has already stopped working. Therefore, the coolness is gone. I will not be purchasing this ever again or recommend this.
