Portable monitor (Black 15.6)

A very impressive, very versatile piece of kit for a very reasonable price. Yes, the display may only be 1080p, but at the 15" screen size that is just fine. It has worked great with every device I have plugged into it, performing slightly different with each. Plugged into my Macbook with USB-C it works great as a second screen, and draws it's power over the USB connection so only a single cable. Connected to my Galaxy Note 8 with just a USB-C cable and the monitor mirrors the phone screen and draws it's power from the phone battery, quite a drain on the phone but great for watching a movie in a hotel room or a plane. Connect power to the 2nd USB on the monitor and the Note 8 launches the DEX desktop environment. Most impressive of all, connect a Nintendo Switch with suitable power input to the monitor and the Switch works in Docked mode! No need for a third party or Nintendo dock! It also works great with an Xbox or any other device with the supplied HDMI cable. Image quality overall is excellent, although I had to switch the display to User mode in PCM on the menu to get the brightness and colours really popping. There are a couple of downsides. The speakers are pretty crummy, and the supplied case/stand is very good but may not be stiff enough to withstand being put in hold luggage on an plane journey.

First of all, I have to say that the customer service at ailrinni has been excellent. They dealt with any concerns I had, quickly and as I would expect from a highly reputable company. Top marks! The item I purchased was not one of the top range models of portable monitor, but delivers an outstanding picture quality and worked well with both my Windows and Linux systems. The Ailrinni monitor has more connections than other brands, such as, USB C, micro USB, mini hdmi, another usbC for power supply. Very handy for most scenarios. Very pleased.

First day of use 3 hrs in. Speakers are not the best but better than nothing. Nice and slim for storing in my laptop bag with my laptop. Strong protective case/stand. Comes with all required cables, 3 cables in total supplied. Can’t fault it as yet. 2 months in - My laptop has a USB-C port so I only have 1 cable to the screen. It powers it and sends a picture. The backlight is slightly dimmer doing it this way but it is still fine.

I've tried this screen with multiple different cables, sources, adapters and all it shows is a black screen. The backlight comes on but that's it. Without a cable plugged in it shows a no signal message but the buttons do nothing. The screen is rather curved, and I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be like that. There is a good 5mm gap in the middle if you hold a ruler along the screen.

When I received this product, I was honestly really surprised at how good the quality was in relation to its low price. The monitor itself is very thin which gives it a very clean design and allows for it to be lightweight. The monitor is also attached to a case (with some removable screws) and the case itself allows for the monitor to be held up at three different levels which was a bonus as well. Highly recommended if you're looking for a portable monitor.

This is a light weight portable monitor that can be packed away to sit alongside books in my bookshelf. It looks modern and sleek. The USB-C connector means that the monitor just works on connection to my laptop or Chromebook. It does not need another power source. Image is bright enough and clear. I've now used it in both day time and night time. The cover sleeve allows you 3 different tilting angles. The only criticism I have is that you have to carry the USB-C cable separately, because there is no space for you to hide it under the sleeve cover.

Good quality screen, apart from text being blurry unless the sharpness is cranked up. The usb type c port for charging (the bottom one) was very loose so a gentle touch would make the screens power cut out. Otherwise very good addition to my portable setup. Nice and light.

I wanted to look for a cheap secondary monitor that I can use with a web browser or PDF reader with my laptop, but it is pretty much indistinguishable from my laptop’s actual screen (13in) and I ended up playing most of my videos on it because it’s slightly bigger. I connect my laptop to it with the HDMI cable that it provides and power it from one of its USB-A port. I’ve tested it with a USB-C cable with a different device and it also works for content and power delivery too, just that my usual laptop doesn’t support it so I have to use two cables instead of one. I love the case that comes with it as I can very easily fold it up and carry it with me in my backpack wherever I go. One thing that initially an issue was how the case took up so much space in front of the screen if you folded it forwards and it got in the way quickly. I soon realised that I could actually just fold the entire thing backwards and it’s still completely secure. I rest the bottom of the screen above the usb cable for extra grip, and it works really well. I recommend that you do the same if you get this screen. I’ve attached some pictures to help explain what I mean. One thing that did disappoint me though is the sound quality. The speaker’s position at the back didn’t help, but even when they were completely unobstructed, they were still quite bad. I also noticed that the left and right stereo speakers are inverted. It doesn’t have very good stereo separation anyway, but it’s still quite annoying. I wouldn’t normally want to use this speaker at all, but I can imagine that the fact that it’s build in will come in handy if I am working on an raspberry pi project or whatever. If anyone has any ideas on how I could fix the left and right inversion, do let me know. Overall, I think this is a great monitor that I can easily recommend to anybody who’s looking for a portable productivity device.
