A little Tricky
I am a huge DIY kind of person and pride myself on being able to figure things out even if directions are vague or confusing. With this product the directions are somewhat in depth but can be confusing if not appearing to put steps in an order that doesn't make sense. However, it wasn't that hard to just figure it out and the product looks amazing on our windows. If you buy this keep in mind it says to clean the window and to spray it with water. It is best to get a spray bottle and just mist the window and then apply the product. I didn't see a need to wet down the product and window when applying. This is not a sticker and it stays on the window using ,I would assume, capillary action in water. Here is a huge tip! If you are reusing the roll it comes with a pull tab to easily remove the backing but you lose this feature when you cut the roll. I would suggest not cutting the backing clear off since it was a pain to separate the backing from the material for my second sheet after I had cut it.

The color is in the light reflecting through!
Hope this is helpful.Upon receiving the product, it does not appear to have actual color. I too was disappointed. I decided to put it up anyway. The sun came through the privacy plastic film and these are the actual pics I took. No alterations just phone pics. The color is in the sun light coming in from the outside. There is also color from the outside view of the window. Subtle, but truly beautiful.Don't disregard this product, I think it really is quite nice and creates a very different look in my kitchen. I would buy more, and thinking of putting it on my glass slider door. Super easy application, take of backing (very fine film) wet and clean window and stick it up. Mine is holding very well. Apply more water to the window if yours does not.Pamela/ Lynden WA.

Hard to get backing off without fingernails!!
Really blocks the view, but doesn't hamper light getting through.

Window films take work to install, this one has lower privacy and is harder to work with
To start, these window films are installable without too much skill/practice. It just takes times. I’m in a bottom floor apartment, but wanted to let some light in during the day (and keep my bedroom dark in the mornings) so I ordered three different films. This review will be a mix of general advice and specifics for this film.First, this stuff takes lots of rounds of work. You have to measure, cut, try and make your cut perfectly square, then separate the backing sheet. If you haven’t worked with window films before, I’d describe them as if two pieces of indestructible saran wrap were stuck to each other. Separating them is a huge pain. Since they work by static electricity, one thing that worked for me was to leave the actual film on the floor, then peel off the backing. Once you start peeling, the film will hold itself in place. Then there’s the window application - a few things to note. If you have a film that’s clear and uses texture, it’ll be harder to squeegee, harder to cut, and (at least in this film’s case) less privacy-preserving. Even if they’re all rated as the same privacy level, different films are definitely more or less private. So unless you’re specifically a fan of the “rain”, I’d recommend another film. There are plenty of directions with each roll, of varying grammatical quality. But you’ll figure it out, just don’t expect the installation to be fast.

Amazing wish I had installed years ago
This stuff is amazing quality. It changed the look of out front window so much. Looks awesome. Keeps out the hot sun in the summer. Doesn’t peel off or fall off. We get lots of comments on it. Thank you

Perfect cover for a fogged transom window
We had a transom window that had gotten fogged over the years and it would cost at least $500 or more to replace it. Instead, we bought this window film and installed it in about an hour. The film is fairly thick and after carefully measuring and cutting it according to instructions, we wet the glass and the inner surface of the film with water with a little detergent in it. We placed it on the window and trimmed it to fit, stepped back and admired the handiwork. Some have commented that colors do not appear; however, it depends on the angle of the sun. Ours is actually shaded so that isn't a concern for us, but we do see some colors.Bottom line: easy installation, cost-effective, and looks good. If we get tired of it, we can remove it and try another pattern.

Looks great
Bought this to add to the windows in our entrance doors, to make it harder to see in. Love the looks, and was easy to install.

good balance of sunlight and privacy
For the window directly facing my neighbors window I chose a film that was less fun, much more blurring. This film wouldn’t provide enough privacy in that situation, but for the window facing my back yard, and more distant neighbors, it’s perfect. The rainbow light filters through differently as the sun moves and blocks enough light to keep my plants on the windowsill from burning while keeping my room bright.
