Exactly as advertised
It is a strong magnifier, but it takes a lot of light. You have to use it near a bright light source. The shadow of your hand/arm will render it nearly useless. Now I know why so many loupes have an LED light as part of the appliance. I am glad that I own it. I bought it to breach my free shipping threshold, but I do use magnifiers to work on fountain pens, electronics and to read the nomenclature on small batteries; so this fits my tool box just fine. The field of view is small.

Worth the Price
Good little magnifier, although it does distort unless you get right up on your object.

Good for Reading GIA Numbers on a Gem
This magnifier was recommended by our jeweler to read the laser certificate number on a gem and this magnifier worked well to achieve the task.

Limited field of view
Provides good magnification, but the outer 1/3 of the field of view is blurred (aberration?) Would have asked for a replacement, but missed the window by one day.

Good detail
I am happy with this piece. It allowed me to see greater detail than my 10x piece that I’ve owned. I also bought another set that had a 30x and 40x piece from a different brand; I was surprised that this 20x let me see greater detail than the other brand. I would recommend this if you want a 20x piece.

Not very good
I ordered this 20x magnifier loupe to look at coins in more detail. However, it was smaller than I expected and the viewfinder was blocked by what appeared to be a dark center. If I moved it around I did see a very small portion of the date on the coin, but mostly this is useless to me.

Good quality
Good quality. This loupe is very sturdy and came with a nice zipper case and a lanyard. I got it to try and see the laser inscription on a lab diamond. To my disappointment I couldn’t see it. I know my diamond should have an inscription because I have the IGI certificate from my jeweler. I had a hard time focusing on my other pieces of jewelry. Could be that I’m 70 and my eye sight just isn’t as good, I prefer my 10x loupe.

Magnification is accurate and objective distance is fantastic. Just what a jewelers loop should be.

This is my first triplet, so I may not be the best person to review it. But from what I can tell, this is perfectly fine for my needs (amateur naturalist), and you can't beat the price. One thing I didn't realize is that there's a right way to look through a triplet: hold it so that you can see the part of the handle that says "TRIPLET 20X", and you're golden: pretty clear across the field of view with very little distortion or chromatic aberration. Look through it the other way, and only the very centre of the FOV is clear -- the rest is quite distorted. Now I know. :-)
