5 Years Still Wonderful!!!
We love this pizza stone! For our first stone we decided to go with an inexpensive option, but after making several dozen pizzas I don't see any reason to buy a more expensive one. It is the perfect size for us and gets the crust nice and crispy. Helpful hint: put parchment paper under the pizza while making it on top of something flat (like a cookie sheet), and then just slide the parchment onto the hot stone when it is ready. Easy as pizza pie! It is not necessary to take the parchment out halfway through, like some say - we've done both ways and didn't notice any difference. Update: We have had this over FIVE YEARS now, and it still works as well as when we got it. Yes, we did mess up one time and put it in a hot oven, but even though it cracked into two pieces (OUR FAULT) that doesn't change at all how well it cooks. We just put the two pieces in the oven now before heating it, and wait for a perfect pizza crust! You can't go wrong with this pizza stone.

Does not break if used properly.
The people that had their stones break probably shocked them with sudden changes in temperature. I am a college student and I throw stuff on there everyday to warm stuff up perfectly every time without it sticking. Oh, you want biscuits? BAM. Oh, you want frozen pizza? BAM. Oh, you want fish sticks and toasted bread. WHAMO. Seriously, this is the easiest way to bake and I hate spending any extra second having to cook when I'm hungry. Food might slightly stick the first time you cook on it but this is normal and just scrape anything that stuck on there for a millisecond. After you cook on it a couple times the stone will turn darker and be lubed up so your food won't stick ever again. You don't get a pizza cutter with this unfortunately. The serving rack under the stone is genius. I'm pretty sure everyone who had their stone break didn't handle it properly because I cook on this thing everyday with no signs of cracking. Wash it? No, you don't have to... in fact it's probably better if you don't. I generally like to brush leftover crumbs off so they don't cook forever... sometimes I don't even do that though because I'm lazy. Your food will cook perfectly every time, it's ridiculous. Update: I have had this stone for months now and it still functions perfectly. I use the handles and serve pizzas directly on a table. People use knives on the pizza to cut it on top of the stone. No scratches or signs of breaking. I have used this stone countless times at this point. What a great deal! Update 7/24/2012: Still going strong, and I use this almost everyday to warm up frozen foods. I accidentally dropped one side of the stone a couple months ago about 5 inches above the table. It did not break. I have now used a pizza cutter and knives on this a couple dozen times with no issue. I love this thing and would recommend it to all my friends. To the person that said to spend more money on another stone... wouldn't it be awful if the more expensive stone broke? Try this one first because it works great for me. Update 10/14/2016: Best purchase I have ever made, I still use it all the time.

Perfectly decent pizza stone
I bought this a little over a year ago. In my old apartment, I had an oven that cooked so unevenly that I just left the pizza stone in there constantly to help fix the heating problem. It helped my baking immensely. I've had it a bit over a year, and it still has not cracked Granted, I heat my oven up slowly so that the temperature gradient isn't too steep which would cause the stone to crack. That being said, since it's been using easily over 100 times and helps my food cook more evenly in general and it does help my doughs crisp up nicely (I cook pizzas, calzones, and meat pies mainly on it), and then other things I just place on the other rack on a baking sheet. If I have really sticky dough, I just throw some cornstarch on the stone to help things from sticking. The shape isn't conducive to large pizzas or for fitting the maximum amount of things efficiently, but there's nothing that can be done about that. It also is a bit annoying to get cheese that spills out from afore mentioned foods off of the stone once it's baked on, but for a cheap pizza stone, it's perfectly acceptable.

Bad odor, releases gas of some sort
I knew something was wrong with this stone the first time I used it, but I gave it a chance anyway. I had a cheap pizza stone for 10 years that finally broke, so I had to get a new one. This looked like a reasonably priced replacement. The first time I used it, the whole apartment filled with a noxious odor and stung my eyes. I figured the stone just had to burn off some coating or something, so I reheated it a few times while nobody was here until the odor went away. It did an okay job on the pizza crust, but nowhere near my old one which was actually thinner. I noticed that I would wake up with a sore throat after I used the stone, but I didn't connect it until last night. I have to throw this thing away. It gives off something that is probably dangerous. I also developed a slight rash on my chest which I think might be related. Don't buy this.

Another cracked pizza stone
First one we had for nine years and it cracked when I threw a frozen pizza on it. Second one we bought last year forgot my lesson and threw a frozen item on it and found the stone cracked in the oven last night. We will try again and order another.๐ค๐ป We do love the bigger size for less mess in the bottom of the oven.

Lasted about a year
Worked great for about a year. Got a wonderful patina, cooked great pizza crusts and cookies. After about a year we found it cracked in the oven. I have used pizza stones for years, so I am always careful about temp shock. That wasn't the case here.

Works great but 14.75 inches barley fits in my oven
The stone cooked the pizza well but it stuck hard and was difficult to get off the stone (may have been our dough) These stones are fragile. The first one arrived broken in two but was immediately replaced so good on the seller. Measure your oven as I can barely close my oven door with this stone and did not consider that when making the purchase
